In short: New coloured pens and staggered start made the start much better and much less congested than previous years. The Geordies once again did us proud and were fantastic hosts, can't wait for next year.

In short: Well worth the 4hr drive from Cheltenham and 5hr return in poor conditions
In full: I have only done one half marathon before this one. I was surprised to find myself in the red zone but when the race started I had to fight my way past many slower runners before finding a clear area. The crowds are great and make up for the slow start. This race is a must if only for the atmosphere.

In short: Poorly organised
In full: Waiting in a pen in hot temps for a hour wasn't the best prep.

In short: An event you must try once but more of a fun day than race
In full: Really good atmosphere and well organised. The local support is good throughout the race which makes a big difference. However, I personally think the price of race number was steep and I've had better goody bags.

In short: Brilliant
In full: My first GNR and a fantastic race - I have nothing bad to say about the organisation - I found everything where they said it would be and even if there was a bit of a queue it was fine - there were after all quite a few people there as well as me.
There were volunteers to take off the chips just passed the finish on the left. Great goody bag, great medal - great day!!

In short: Brilliant day, the supporters and other runners made it. Personally I felt the organisation could be better - but then maybe I am being picky!
In full: Loved the atmosphere and very impressed with the number of drinks stations - would deffinately love to do this again. My only gripe would be the organisation - I know this is a big event but sign posting at the start was very poor, the baggage buses hard to reach, there were no where near enough loo's or if there were then where were they? At the end I was exhausted having given my all to the run and very nearly the final straw for me was having to bend down to take my tag off I really thought I was going to faint when I straightened up again - previous half marathons have had volunteers to do this for you and this would be a nice touch in future - but hey small point really! On a positive note the T-shirt is fab - it has hardly been off my back yet!

In short: Great atmosphere, the crowds were fantastic
In full: It's been a few years since I last did a GNR but I thought the start was a lot better organised this year. The crowds, as ever, were very supportive and the finish area worked very smoothly. Overall, very enjoyable!
