In short: Overall, glad I did it, but friends & family wouldn't agree due to transport problems - miserable time for them, they would rather have run it themselves!

In short: It's more of an event to experience than a race for a PB
In full: I had a great weekend. The travelling was a drag but it was definitely worth it. The atmosphere was amazing, support was superb and organisation was second to none.

The only problem was getting through runners/walkers who'd started way way ahead of their predicted time slot. It was a challenge weaving through so many people, which took quite a bit of concentration.

I came away with a PW of 2.03 (PB is 1.46) but I didn't go there for a time, I went for the experience and what an experience it was too!

In short: Too crowded for p.b. but great friendly folks offering biscuits & drinks throughout the race a nice touch. A big thanks to all those who supported!

In short: A great day. No chance of PB but who cares as I am unlikely at 62 to qualify for the next Olympics.

In short: The best half-marathon ever. It will never be the fastest due to the numbers, but I'll be back for sure!

In short: Glad I made the trip. Thanks Geordies.
In full: If I run again next year I will make sure that I am nearer the front. Found it hard dodging around the slower runners which I had to do over the whole course. Baggage buses need sorting out. Lessons could be learnt from London Marathon on this subject. Championchip is a must for future races.

In short: The crowds didn't seem as loud this year & needed prompting to cheer us on! Oh & what happened with the traffic in South Shields??!
