In short: This was my 23rd race at 10 miles and first time out of Sussex for this distance. The hills? were surprisingly soft!. In full: Was expecting sterner climbs such as in Lewes 10, Cuckmere 10, Mince Pie or Southdowns 10. Still, more than enough for a first race of the year. Nice touch - the hand towel. Pleasant change from a medal. Date of review: January 8, 2006
In short: There's nothing like it for starting the year. In full: Thanks to all the marshalls - friendly, supportive and helpful.
As has been mentioned several times, two testing uphill slogs on each lap, and I have to admit, the last one got me. However, thanks to the guy who forced me to run up the hill at mile 6, the last mile was the only part of a challenging course that beat me. Oh, so did the time.
Towel was a nice touch.
This was one race where I stood at the start and felt like I'd rather be at home in front of the fire, but, having completed the race, I felt more justified sitting watching football. Date of review: January 8, 2006
In short: A great way to start the year In full: As ever Tadworth put on a good showing. A great 10 miler to start the year. New HQ was a bit far from the start line for those collecting numbers, but I moved my car so no big deal.
I can;t beleive there are ratings moaning about the course. Top tip if it says Hilly in the race description there are going to be some hills. Certainly not the hilliest race around, but two long slow drags, which sap you escpecially on the 2nd lap....
Quality momento. I got an insulated mug which was enscribed with the Tadworht 10 moiker. Guess I was too slow for the towel, but I'd rather have the mug for taking my morning coffee to work!
Marshalls were all supportive I made sure to thank every one on the 2nd lap. Well done Tadworth another good race!!! Date of review: January 8, 2006
In short: well done to the organisers In full: well that was a great race despite the big Hills especially at mile post 2-4 i think it was, god its never ending i thought what goes up must surely come down and it didn't but thou it was a great race and made some more new friends and like the momento the towel will come in very handy, once again thnks and i will return thou i should of done this race last year but i was in hospital when it took place anyway. WELL DONE to all those who FINISHED IT despite the cold weather Date of review: January 8, 2006
In short: a hard but nevertheless worthwhile start on the road to April 23rd - it never gets any easier! In full: The only critiscism I can come up with was nothing to do with the organisers but down to the management of the race course. They very sensibly turn off the water supply to the toilet facilities situtaed in the grandstand to prevent burst pipes during the winter but failed to turn them on prior to my (thankfully early) visit to inspect the plumbing. I was just glad that I was not at the end of the loo queue!!! Date of review: January 8, 2006
In short: Excellent, well organised, and challenging race In full: That long slow drag at the beginning! Fine on the first time around, but it gets you on the second go! Date of review: January 8, 2006
In short: Challenging start to the New Year In full: I found this quite demanding as it is an undulating and at times hilly course. 12 minutes slower than my previous 10miler just 2 months prior to this but this may have been due to Christmas excesses. Certainly would recommend it. Date of review: January 8, 2006
