In short: Good friendly race In full: Had the same feeling about the last kilometre being a bit longer, but overall nice, reasonably flat course with plenty of car parking (a bug-bear for me). Will do it again next year. Date of review: March 21, 2005

In short: Ran a PB and enjoyed doing it. In full: A village atmosphere. Friendly marshalls and locals. Much warmer than last year. Did a PB, which I was pleased about. Not sure what other people found but I wondered if the last km was measured right as this was my slowest kilometre by about 20 seconds and I just dipped over the 50 minutes which I was a bit miffed about as I was on track all the way to beat it. At least it gives me a target for next time! Date of review: March 21, 2005

In short: My first 10K - fantastic time!! In full: I'm delighted to be honest , I completed Fradley 10K (my first 10 K race or any race for that matter for 16 years) and fast too my wife timed me at 52:45 - I wasn't expecting to do less than 60:00 especially as I had a dodgy ankle , twisting it last Saturday. The weather was mild and overcast , with no wind and some mist. A huge turnout with what appeared to me some very serious and purposeful looking runners. Never having run a competition before I was worried on two counts - would I be too far back in the huge pack waiting to start and end up spending 10minutes to get over the start line or would I position myself too far forward and end up running too fast.
Either way it was OK I ran far faster for my first Klm 5:25 and was able to keep a good pace passing people occasionally and feeling much stronger after 5K . I felt all strong and at 8Km rashly decided to speed up, however at 9km I wondered if I had done the right thing - however I made it and managed a sprint finish!!.
Ankle is killing me but I can rest it now!!
Brilliant!!
