In short: No Warning of the 2miles across country-DANGEROUSLY SLIPPY! In full: Glad to make it in one piece finding good ground was impossible, if there had been warning it was a multi terrain event i wouldntve done it! Date of review: February 26, 2006
In short: Great race - had it all tricky start, easy middle bit and good finish In full: Managed to start way too fast, fell over and that wind! (should have been a bit of a clue that the start line was next to a glider field) Still managed a PB by 3 1/2 minutes though. Great race and well organised. The off road bit was entertaining and broke the race up quite well. Date of review: February 26, 2006
In short: a WICKED course with a COOL surprise thrown in, a MUST do half In full: my VERY first half marathon, which i did in 1:58 a PB for me so i'm chuffed especially after reading other runners views of how hard this course is,does it mean other halfs are easier?i may be able to answer that after doing other Half's,well done 2organisers i will return next year Date of review: February 26, 2006
In short: Absolutely fabulous half marathon - everyone should do it!! In full: This has been my favourite half marathon to date. Great marshalls, nicely manned water stations, well thought out goody bag and a fantastic tee-shirt at the end.
The course was challenging (I've not done any cross country since leaving school!) - but I loved the whole thing.
This is a must do event for beginners to more experienced runners alike.
And, it was a real bargain to boot!! Date of review: February 26, 2006
In short: Challenging is the word for the run today, nice setting at R A F Cranwell In full: organisation was tip top and everything appeared to run realy smoothly, found the cross country section fun and was surprised to hear people were unaware of what to expect, considering it rained last night? course appeared to be undulating although wind made some sections a little tougher than those with the shelter of a hedge nearby, all in all i had a nice run out today as part of my FLM training, so thanks to sleaford striders and all the helper who braved the weather to put on an event for us runners. In short: Slick organisation, olympic mud sliding in places In full: A well organised race using very good race centre at RAFC Cranwell. Can be a bit dull in places with some very long straight legs - nearly all apparently into wind(!). Thebit they described as a Green lane is a muddy footpath where grass would be a useful to keep your balance. Finish was very good, especially free warm drink and superb LONG sleeved T-shirt. Tough for a PB, especially today. Date of review: February 26, 2006
In short: Overall a great race, weather was beaut and the off-road section entertaining! In full: Not for those who don't like mud! Although the race was advertised as flat (hmmmmm!) the hills did add some variety on a generally scenic route! I'd certainly recommend it, even for those not training for a spring marathon! In short: PB despite the tricky off road section so I aint complaining ! In full: Some "interesting" terrain that was made all the more "interesting" by the heavy overnight rain! Generally well organised and marshalled through some pleasant countryside. Will be back next year even if not training for London. Thanks 2 all involved. Date of review: February 26, 2006
