In short: Well organised and good to move the finish! In full: Good race with plenty of encouraging marshalls and nice course without much traffic. Excellent pre-marathon build-up. Echo other comments that need more toilets and water at the finish line, but much better positioning of the finish than last year. Thank you. Date of review: March 14, 2011

In short: Excellent race - well organised In full: Second year of doing the 20 miler and enjoyed running around the aerodrome again, and much better start this year than last. love the course, couple of hills which seemed to have grown the second time around. Not my best run on the second lap but will certainly do again. Date of review: March 14, 2011

In short: Thankyou runners!!!!!!!!!!!!! In full: Thankyou runners!!!!!!!!!!!!! As one of the four marshalls at the 7 and 17 mile mark i would just like to say how much we also enjoyed the day, we really had fun cheering, encourageing and helping you all have a safe and fun event. Having so many of you say thankyou is a real feelgood factor in helping out at future events. We must have had over 95% of you either say thankyou or even give us a thumbs up. I am also a runner and with probably hundreds of races over the years along with triathlon it is good to try the other side of the fence for a change. So to each and everyone of you, "WELL DONE" you all did fantastic and "GOOD LUCK" for your next event.

In short: Excellent marshalls around the course but not designed for slower runners In full: Great to have the start so close to the car park, but as with every other race never enough toilets! Pity there were no mars bars etc. left for the slower 20 mile runners and all the finish gantry and hoardings taken down by the time I had arrived back. Surley it could have remained for at least 4 hours especially as there were quite a few runners obviously using the race as a training run rather than a pure speed event. I bit expensive bearing in mind lack of goodie bag or t-shirt, medal ok but not very inspiring. Date of review: March 14, 2011

In short: Friendly Two Lap Road Event In full: A very friendly event, plenty of chats with people in the car-park and out on the course – every single person I spoke to was using the event as part of marathon preparation. Course wise it was two laps with the first three miles on an airfield then out onto local roads which I would describe as undulating rather than hilly, there were two short uphill sections that a few had to walk but they were very brief. Personally I really liked the airfield section, huge flat wide open space, very different to anything I am used to. The road sections weren’t traffic free but the cars were generally very considerate – it made me appreciate the quieter sections all the more. Fluorescent signs and (soggy but cheerful!) marshalls in all the right places meant taking a wrong turn was impossible. The water was in cups rather than bottles with energy gels and jelly babies also being handed out at the water stations. No goodie bag at the end but a medal and a mars bar along with a bottle of ribena. The inevitable pre race queues for the toilets were helped with urinals for the gents.
Despite having a terrible race I would do the event again, the runners I met were all well prepared with a number of clubs well represented but I wouldn’t say it was elitist, I’m pretty slow but didn’t feel out of place. Date of review: March 14, 2011

In short: Chance to run the top gear track and then through beautiful scenary! In full: A great race in preparation for an April marathon. This is the furthest I have ever run and I had been nervous about the upcoming London marathon...but the timing of this and completing it well inside expectations has lifted confidence no end! The course was great - I liked the flat aerodrom start which thinned everyone out, and beautiful scenary for the rest. A few hills but nothing too bad Only bad things were the place was really hard to find...we got lost 3 times. Also, I missed the start cos was waiting for the loos! More than made up for by a fantastic shiny medal and lots of jelly babies on the way round though. Def plan to be back next year and skim a few mins off to get sub 2.45!
