In short: Challenging, well organised race with a scenic route.
In full: Uphill start was a bit depressing and some of the best (worst?) hills I've ever run in a race, but there are noticeable downhill sections to recoup some time and the last few miles were flat enough for a quick finish. Weather couldn't spoil what was a well organised and excellently marshalled race.

In short: Tough course
In full: This was my second half and to my surprise I was only 3 seconds out of my first time, which was a much flatter course. The hills are a challenge, but rewarding in a funny way. Organisation was really good, the marshalls were brilliant. Will be back next year with a snorkal and flippers. Did I mention it rained....

In short: Hilly, wet and tough; a nice day out
In full: I heard rumours beforehand about this being a really tough Half Marathon. Well, they were right. But it was more a triathlon: a run, with a swim through the puddles/rain, and a bit of climbing thrown in instead of the cycling.

I can usually recall how many hills I ran up/down, but not today. However, the one around the 8 mile mark will forever hold a special place in my memory. I'm sure I saw a Yeti at one point, but I imagine I was just delirious from the pain.

Despite the tough course, the awful weather, and the narrow lanes, I managed to post a new PB so something must've gone right.

Organisation was good, and the marshals were a great encouragement. Water stops were frequent but in my view superfluous - you just had to open your mouth and look up!

I'll be doing this one again next year.

In short: Murder in Marlow
In full: The race was well organised and very popular but it is far and away the hardest half marathon I have done. Rotten hill at 8 miles is well named and there were numerous other nasty uphill sections. Little chance of recording a PB but worth a trip if you fancy a demanding and often painful run.

In short: absolutely kille hill, but friendly club runs it
In full: hill at 8-9 miles is most horrific i've ever run! This year was really wet and windy in places and the roads were puddled up!Friendly stewards and good organisation make it a good run.
