In short: Very, very, very, very wet
In full: as the man on the PA said, and he was not wrong. To think I complained about having to run through one or two ankle deep puddles a couple of years ago. But I'm going keep doing this one at least until we get good weather for it.

In short: Mountainous hills, running through streams and lakes from the start. Lovely downhill finish.

In short: Pack your wellies and climbing ropes!
In full: Terrible conditions almost a foot deep in places, water streaming down the hills. Although well organised and dedicated Marshalls despite the horrible conditions. I had heard it was hilly but up and down like a yoyo a real challenge!

In short: Brilliant race in appalling conditions
In full: Freezing rain for the first hour, roads flooded ankle deep, the conditions were so bad it was great - the most enjoyable run I've had this year. A huge thank you to fantastic marshalls and organisers who remained cheerful throughout. This remains my favourite race in the calendar, looking forward to 2013 if my kit dries out in time!

In short: Bonfire night followed by a scenic HM
In full: Hard to fault this one! Marlow one of the prettier parts of England, with the HM very well-organised and still managing to maintain that village feel despite 1500 entrants. The route is glorious and virtually car-free, with some challenging hills to make it interesting then the last mile is all downhill. Top it off with a great fireworks display at Longridge the night before and a pub lunch afterwards and its a great weekend.

In short: lovely and cool day, once on the way gretted with a slow winding uphillsection, and this theme continued with steeper up and down runs, with a lovely last mile downhill to the finish

In short: Wonderful race with red kites for company.
In full: Travelled quite a distance to do this race having ran it for the first time last year. Enjoyed the course very much and seeing red kites giving their arial support made me want to return. It's certainly not an easy run and people considering need to practice on the hills. Tech. Shirt was a great improvement on last year's cotton variety. Only one criticism. More loo's are required. With a 1000 plus runners the ones on sight cannot cope with the deamd and a few porto's would help, just aswell the route was heavily wooded in places. Overall a great run, one of the best, and I will do it again.

In short: Bring on the DOMS!!
In full: Last did this 5 years ago and for some reason, although I remembered it was hilly, I didn't remember it being quite that hilly!!

Definately a challenge, and my legs are still sore now (it's Wednesday evening) but it makes finishing all the sweeter.

Great marshalls, loved the technical t-shirt - better than a medal - and the bar of soap was an added (random) bonus. Would probably have liked a Mars Bar or a sports drink or something at the end - would have put an extra sparkle on it.

One major gripe - and it's not very original - the number of ladies toilets was WOEFUL. The queue was ridiculous and I was resigned to finding a quiet spot to go until I happened across the (empty) public loos 2 minutes from the start venue!
