In short: Never a dull moment.
In full: A tough race if you're not used to off-road terrain. Some steep, steep hills and technical descents.

The rain was nice in my opinion. Made me feel alive.

I'll be back next year and better prepared.

In short: best day ever
In full: this was my 8th marathon of the year so far and my far the best, this road runner is def converted. yes it was hard the the rewards great - the scenery was out of this world when the rain subsided. the underfoot conditions were quite bad but this seemed to make the miles float by. sign me up for next year. only thing was the course was short; i made it 25.5 so not a marathon

In short: 2011 Scorchio, 2012 Squelchio still relentless, challenging, beautiful and brilliant
In full: Not for the faint of heart, a course that will test you to your limits, the combination of climbs, descents and terrain barely gives you a moments respite. Organisation faultless again this year, support awesome, weather terrible but I preferred this years wet to last years heat. In two years has become a must do marathon for those who want more than urban Tarmac. Not one to underestimate but just the best way imaginable to spend a filthy wet Sunday at the start of July.

In short: Relentless, Scenic, Beautiful. 2011 was a scorcher and i'm definetly doing it again
In full: If you want a challenge then this is the one for you! climbs and hills that are relentless, craggy rocks and terrain that is dangerous and exposed places that will burn you when it's scorching hot like it was this year. Completely different to a city marathon so dont expect a great marathon time, but do expect a challenge that you'll remember.

In short: This was some challenge! Fantastic organisation, as always friendly, helpful volunteers and lots of Wow factor. See you in 2012
In full: Love the Lakeland Trails series and this was a brilliant addition to the calendar. Even the river crossing, added at the last minute, provided a welcome cooling down of tired legs and feet. And just when you thought the lakeside would be a nice, flat run in there were some more little hills to keep us on our toes. I had forgotten how good the Coniston area is but there were plenty of reminders on this journey! Thankyou for all the effort put into organising this race, it was something which will live long in the memory.

In short: An amazing Challenge!
In full: It couldn't have been a better day for experiencing some breathtaking scenery in the Lake District. For a first Marathon event the organisation was spot on marshals and stewards were friendly and encouraging, plenty of water stations to suppliment my own supply and a nice touch at the finish being handed a well earnt medal by the race organiser. A challenging course but that was expected for an off road marathon around Coniston... that's what the event was all about in my mind. I'll be back for more please do it again!.

In short: Challenging, terrain tough but the best off road race I've ever completed. A real feel good factor !
In full: I carried my own water and still welcomed water/energy drink stations. Organisation was good and it encouraging to have so many supporters cheering. Would have been good to receive a women's size T shirt. Bit worrying when I heard that I would have to make own way back if I didn't meet the cut off times (may have been a joke?). I felt a real sense of achievement when I finished the race and would certainly run it again. Overall a fantastic but challenging experience. Thanks

In short: Best run I've ever done, will be back next yera
In full: Atomosphere great, scenery amazing, totally relaxed, will be back next year - only minor gripe is it would be great one day to get a t-shirt that fits so I could wear with pride. WOuld and have recommended this to everyone.

In short: Tough but enjoyable
In full: Very hard course for someone who normally just does road running. Tough underfoot conditions at some points but made the race more interesting and worthwhile! I didn't see any water at the end and no one pointed me in the right direction. Apart from that I really loved it and plan to be back next year if possible!
