In short: Well organised and marshaled
In full: This was my first road race, I do XC and fell running normaly. I wasn't particularly looking forward to it as I'd only entered it as a couple of mates were doing it. But I thoroughly enjoyed it, the atmosphere was great helped my the enthusiastic marshals and the local residents who clapped us on. the last couple of miles up through the shopping areas was briliant. I will definatly do it again next year.

In short: My First marathon, great experience!
In full: Having never run a marathon before I was a bit unsure what to expect in terms of organisation and support but this was fantastic, it was great to see everyone in the smaller villages come out of their houses and cheer us on.

I think the race would have been better if there were a few more marathon runners, it felt a little lonely at times after the full split from the half route but hopefully this will improve as the event becomes more established

In short: Friendly, well-organised, room for fine-tuning
In full: I did the full marathon route.

I'll start with my only significant complaint - the website was lacklustre and didn't include the map of the full marathon route. This gave me the impression that we would be doing 2x13 mile loops, and I only got the proper route after e-mailing the organisers.

Otherwise, a very friendly race. The marshalling was precise and spot-on, the volunteers were full of encouragement, especially in the more remote parts of the marathon course.

A good, straight first 6 miles or so down Melton Road. Then the countryside was beautiful to run through (Miles 6-15). The route seemed a bit disjointed after about mile 15, including a rather hairy run down the hard shoulder of a trunk road (A46)?

Going through the parks into the City Centre towards the rear of the field, it felt more like a training run than a race, but I appreciate that the parks must be the best option in terms of road closures etc. Also a bit difficult running through shoppers at mile 24/25. But an epic climb up New Walk to finish.

Still, a well-organised, well-marshalled and friendly run. It's easy to split hairs and I would like to thank the organisers for their efforts.

In short: Well organised and decent course
In full: Having done this in 2007 on what was a white urban dull course, this year I returned and the route was far more scenic. I wouldnt call it flat, more slightly undulating. There are no big hills, but a few undulations to test tired legs. Especially of note is that last mile, a 1m slog up a hill through the heart of the city centre. A real test at the end! Good organisation, ecellent marshalls and gels/high-5 and water a plenty.

In short: Great people, great organisation, great race,
In full: Big thank you to all of the marshalls and local supporters, it really does make all the difference when the going gets tough. My second full Leicester marathon and it won't be the last highly recommended for first time runners.

In short: Well organised with great marshalls
In full: A very slick and well organised event. Plenty of water/High5 feeding stations. High5 gels available at most of the marathon feeding stations too. Very enthusiastic marshalls too. Course has a few undulations but nothing too difficult. A definte PB course.
