In short: Course is harder than it looks - but a great race all the same.
In full: Well done Liverpool. After teething troubles last year this was one of the best organised races I have run. The first half is very flat and fast, the second half quite challenging from the moment you hit the bottom of the tunnel. An elevation map including the tunnel section would be helpful!

The course is truly varied and interesting. Leafy parks, derelict dockyards, the eerily quiet tunnel, the spectacular waterfront and a great finish location. Loved it. And the perfect weather helped!

In short: First marathon and couldn't ask for a better experience. Great organisation, very friendly volunteers, plenty of locals turning out to watch. Definitely going to be back next year

In short: An excellently organised challenging race, the drums in the tunnel exhilarating and perfectly placed on the course.

In short: Well organised. Not sure about the route though!
In full: I agree with most of whats been said, but have to disagree about the route. The first 5 miles from Birkenhead park were pretty grim, as was miles 14/15/16 around Kings dock. I did enjoy the tunnel though, especially the drummers - deafening! That nasty hill at 17/18 was a bit of a surprise too...

In short: Highly recommended - Liverpool at it's best
In full: Brilliant race - agree with all the good points already made. Organisation first class, route so much more attractive and interesting than I expected - miles just flew past. Good feeling from the start - relaxed atmosphere in the park, choir singing , no queues for the toilets, efficient baggage handling, sensible seeding in the pens. Friendly runners, marshals and spectators. Considering how much an event like this must cost to organise and quality of medal and t-shirt I did think it was good value for money. People have to make a living and I didn't feel ripped off. We were very lucky with the weather - perfect running conditions. Not an obvious PB course but I'm thinking now that I know the route not impossible next year.
