In short: I ran in the 10k race that supported the 20K. As my first 10K race, I found everyone warm and friendly, the race well organised and both marshalls and runners alike were very helpful. Well done BBDRC!

In short: A challenging race with excellent organisation
In full: Escellent site management with good signposting & indoor facilities.Showrrs were lovely and hot, even for a late finisher. Marshals friendly and encouraging. Water stations very efficient. Chip management at start & finish was well organised. Goody bag, well thought out & bottle of beer very welcome.
A generous range of prize categories.
A challenging course, but no hail & rain this time. Well done BBDRC

In short: 20k makes a nice change but the hills at the start and finish should not be underestimated!
In full: The weather today made my target time more challenging (as did a foot injury) but on the whole I left this race wanting to come to come back another year.

This race was moved from February to November, although it seemed to effect the number of entrants I think they should stick with this time of year. There were some nice touches to this race such as the much needed free soup and the bottle of beer. I think i've ran every Bungay race this year and I am always impressed by their low key yet highly efficent organisation, this was yet another route in and around the Bungay area that seemed to incororate a couple of challenging hills...and you thought Suffolk and Norfolk is flat! Whilst this "Great Run" doesn't match the commercial coverage of the BUPA series, this one will be lighter of your pocket but just as rewarding and not a runner in fancy dress in sight!

In short: Great challenging course. Bit hilly in places. Very friendly all round
In full: A good challenging course, well marshalled, stress free collection of number and chip. The course had a few inclines with the killer coming at the end. A very rural course - with the exception of the beginning and end I cant remember seeing any houses ! Well done to the organisers. Good medal, free soup and to top it all a bottle of Adnams - fantastic.

In short: Tough but good race.
In full: I did this one as part of my training for the Norwich half in three weeks time and because it looked a bit different.
Whilst the start location isn't the easiest to access and you need to park about 0.5 mile away from the start/finish line it is well managed and friendly.
The hills are quite gruelling but they are mainly at the start and end with the main bulk of the course fairly benign. Another nice bonus was the addition of a concurrent 10k race which added to the numbers to improved the atmosphere.
At the end there is a goody bag with some essential end of race stuff such as a banana, drinks and snacks. There is also a good bespoke medal to add to the collection. All in all a good, well organised race.

In short: A challenging but really enjoyable race, very well organised, well done BBDRC
In full: I really enjoy running in local races, and this event has a great community feel to it. Credit to Bungay Black Dog RC and Adnams for their excellent organisation of the event, the free beer and extensive prize list.
The race itself is challenging, it includes hills and the course is open so can be affected by the wind. Its definitely worth doing and is capable of producing fast times allowing for the hills, a definite for the calendar in 2012

In short: A Great race with some challenging climbs!
In full: This is the second time I have run this race. Previously ran it in appalling conditions back in February 2010. This time the weather held, slightly overcast, but at least no rain, sleet or snow! Having said that, this year I was 12 minutes slower (not enough training!). A great scenic course, well marshalled, all offering encouragement. Race HQ had soup for all competitors and a great goody bag at the end. Having ditched all the free flyers from the previous year in the bin, it was good to see what was in the goody bag, was worth having. Lastly, this race is a great warm up for Norwich Half Marathon.

In short: Is it ALWAYS cold in Bungay?!?
In full: Really well organised, plenty of toilets, great marshalling, friendly and encouraging. Course has a couple of hills, including a killer at the beginning and another at the end, for that extra challenge.
