In short: Fantastically tough and muddy race in the beautiful cotswolds In full: Great race including singing the national anthem at the start. Starts with a circuit of bath racecourse on flat grass then down a long hilly, rocky path to the bottom of the hill after 5k. Then back up the long hill and up further hills, over stiles, forest tracks, muddy puddles etc then up an unbelievably steep muddy hill and back to the racecourse where the ultra 10k runners peel off and the half marathon goes around for a 2nd tiring loop. In short: Very tough but one of my favourite races In full: Lots of hills as the name suggests, but great atmosphere and amazing scenery make up for this. As always really well organised with a nice medal & tech t-shirt to take home. Date of review: November 25, 2015
In short: Makes you feel alive! Fantastic race, Great Scenery, Tough Hills and a really cool medal and shirt as a reward In full: This was only our second off-road half but what a race. Great organisation and a great atmoshere with the runners encouraging each other, especially on the hills. Loved the "Fool on the Hill", great touch. Also loved the medal and having the names of all the competitors on the back of the shirt. Plan to be back next year to do it faster! Date of review: November 24, 2015
In short: Were the hills steeper this year? In full: What a fantastic race, superb organisation and very encouraging marshalls! Conditions were good this year and the huge lake in the middle of the track had been filled in. Will be back next year for more punishment!
