In short: OK.....a step away from being great
In full: I should have been raving about this event - 5 minutes under my PB was certainly something to be raving about but....

Baggage area was unattended / uncontrolled
Goody bag had a pair of 10p socks to fit a giant - I'm size 11 and they are too big for me and a medal and that was it !!
Someone put those bagpipes out of their distress.
There and back, there and back course is a little unexciting
Water stations were undermanned
Timing of awards presentation was wrong
Felt a little cliquey

BUT....

Fast course, car free, RW pacers were great.

Flyde Coast are clearly well organised in their races with everything set up well it just lacked a little consideration towards the racers

In short: Fantastic PB potential!
In full: Really good race and lovely marshalls, water stations well stocked, two-looped course, a tad boring at times but nice people spectating along the way, fab medal however goody bag rather disappointing, size 11-ish white socks not really suiting my size 5 feet :-) (maybe I've been spoilt in the past!) Overall a fantastic PB potential, knocked 8 minutes of my time coming 6th in my category, really can't complain, would definitely do again :-)

In short: Great Race and pretty medal
In full: Great race - race pack picked up nice and early and lots of cheap hotels near the start to choose from (and mine happy to let me get a late checkout to have a shower and store bags). Nice and flat other than the few small climbs up and down to the front but definite PB potential. Great medal - goody bag not great but run was cheap enough so no complaints :D

In short: Beginner friendly - lovely marshals
In full: This was my first half marathon (ran in preparation for the manchester marathon in April). I really enjoyed it - great atmosphere and very friendly and encouraging marshals. Pedestrians, bikes and fishermen on the course provided some comedy moments which kept me going for the distance! Stayed at the Hilton hotel the night before which made things much simpler parking and bag wise. Only downside was trying to get to the back of the field at the start line as we were led straight into the path of the already lined-up faster runners. Oh - and what was with the huge socks?? Anyone know what happened to the 12 min pacer?

In short: Great race made even better by the Runner's World pacing team!
In full: It started off a bit stressful when we arrived. The parking in the field next to the hotel was chaotic. There was a surprise £2 fee and no-one to guide you to a space so there were cars going all over the place. It was also a shame that we were not allowed to go into the hotel as there were only 15 toilets for around 1,300 runners plus supporters. Moaning over though. The race itself was really good. The marshalls were excellent and really encouraging. The water stops and mile markers were very clear and it was a lovely, relatively flat course. My husband was full of praise for the 8 minute Runner's World pacer. He's been trying to get under 1hr 45 mins and today he managed it with flying colours and got a PB due to the pacer and his encouragement, so a huge thank you to the pacer! This is a well organised and friendly race.

In full: Definite PB course. Lovely medal. Disappointed with the registration area. Once you'd collected your number you were asked to leave the building and wait outside - it was cold but fortunately dry. Not enough portaloos but toilets at 20p a go were close enough by. Goody bag was disappointing, as I said medal is lovely, the socks - what are they all about - they may fit some of the men but ladies they'll bury us. In addition a snack bar - nice but that was all and for £20 I thought it was a bit steep. Marshalls were great - thanks. Would do the race again if only for it's PB potential.
