In short: Bloomin marvellous
In full: Theres no doubt that glorious spring weather always helps a race - and puts a smile on the face and elicits a sigh of relief from the Race Director.... but this was one race that the RD (and his team) had done enough in advance to be confident of a great race WHATEVER the weather. From the portaloos tho the massive parking field, to the marshalls and assistance all round - this was one great race. Certainly undulating - but the scenery more than made up for the few puffing and panting hills. Well done FoD - I'll certainly be back!

In short: A very well organised race in beautiful surroundings
In full: Overall a very enjoyable day! It's difficult to find any faults with this race. The organisation is superb, and apart from one road crossing it is around the trail paths of the Forest of Dean. There are enough hills to give an additional challenge but that makes getting over the finishing line all the more satisfying!

In short: Forest Run Surpasses Most
In full: This is a brilliant race;enough undulations to be challenging; delightful scenery, friendly crowds, easy parking and the sunny day helped. I managed a PB, so all's well with the world.

In short: This is how a half marathon should be organised !
In full: Well done to the organisers and helpers !
Excellent course, with only one road croosing made this a very enjoyable, scenic route through the magnificent Forest of Dean.
Car parking worked well with both entrances to the field being used to keep the flow going, would be a great idea to use this plan again as this was not on the original pre-race information ! 10/10

In short: Loved it, definately worth doing
In full: This was one of my favourite races, most of the field seemed to be from running clubs or at least on the fitter side than you see at most half marathons.
The terrain was narrow forest path as you'd expect so to get a pb you'd need to place yourself wisely at the start. There was one or two challenging climbs but plenty of long downhill stretches too so possible to get around quite fast if you are sufficiently trained for the event. The organisation and atmosphere were great and the marshals were friendly and efficient. the medals were good quality and the tech t shirts seem good too (only free for the top 50 male and female) otherwise a very reasonable £8.
Overall a really good day out that I will certainly do again.
Well done to the organisers and all volunteers and marshals

In short: 10/10
In full: Did this race a few years ago (2009 I think) and since then it has grown into a MUCH bigger event but where so many races fail to keep what makes a race special when they increase the numbers, FoD has got it spot on. The organisation was so smooth, couldn't fault it.

The race takes you down forest trails so the scenary is lovely. There are a couple of steepish sections but nothing to shocking. Plently of water station, lovely medals, all good, and the weather was perfect too.

Thanks to all at FoD
