In short: Scenic course, fantastic organisation and marshalling, excellent value for money. In full: From start to finish this race was superbly well organised. Given a field of about 500, I think collecting numbers on the day is a good idea. Upon arrival at the Rugby Club, everything was clearly signed for the runners pre-race, toilets, changing facilities all excellent. Nice mile walk to the picturesque start at Brockham Green. Instructions were very clear at the start, clear start line in the road, markers for different paced runners as well. I wish every other race would ban earphones which the Dorking 10 does.
As for during the race, a lovely course, admittedly very hot, sunny and hilly but I would rather admire the Surrey Hills under perfect blue skies, although I'm certain some will disagree mid race! Excellent marshalling throughout the course, very clear instructions as well as motivating. And a big thank you to whoever it was spraying with a water hose over the runners, very much appreciated.
Loved the finish area across the rugby pitch, and the announcer calling out every runner's name as they finished. Great technical T-shirts given out this year as it's the 25th anniversary race. First time I've done this race, will be making it an annual ritual. Favourite race I've done so far, best organisation, best scenery and a really good atmosphere as well. Well done to all at Dorking and Mole Valley AC. Date of review: May 24, 2010

In short: Very well organised race on a hot day In full: Excellent setting for this race, setting off on a village green and then finishing on rugby pitches in a park Like the innovative use of a rugby post as a finish line. Very well organised and welcoming well done to all concerned in the organisation. Lots of water and like the hose shower at 5 miles ! Date of review: May 23, 2010

In short: Tough race in the heat but well organised and a great t-shirt! In full: This was my second Dorking 10 and was even hotter this year. Not a PB day given the heat but the race was well organised and the commentator was good. Did manage to win a trophy but was disapointed to hear that they would have to post it as they didn't have them there. However despite this i would like to thank Dorking AC for a well organised morning and a great t-shirt (love it!). Let's hope it's not so hot next year! Date of review: May 23, 2010

In short: Very well organised, good support - great race! In full: This is the club race of Dorking and Mole Valley AC, and race director Sheena puts in a lot of effort (and a few sleepless nights) to get this to happen each year. It's BARR gold-graded, and you can see why: everything is covered. It was HOT this year, but then, that's what you get if you run a race at the end of May (although it could also be snowing). There were a few short hills to liven up the course. Pretty views in places, if you could lift your eyes from the road and wipe the weat from your eyes. Several runners insisted on running in the middle of the road - Duh! Death wish! Very good commentary system meant that you were recognised at the start of the run up the final straight and could hear your name mentioned (I felt like a superstar!). Chip-timed results meant that the results were ready as soon as we were ready to see them (and apparently were up on the internet while we were still at the race). Well done Rob Champion at Sports Systems! Very good t-shirt this year, which I shall wear with pride. Cakes and tea at the end were very highly appreciated. Very good work DMVAC and all the marshals - thanks! Bring back the National Anthem at the start! Date of review: May 23, 2010

In short: Well organised, lovely scenery and tough! In full: My third time doing this race, once again supportive, friendly marshals and easy to see mile markers. Enjoyed the scenic route when I managed to lift my head! Would prefer an earlier start and suggest another water station earlier on the course. Overall good day out...it took me the rest of it to recover! Date of review: June 3, 2009

In short: Great race not many 10 milers around now - attracts great field. Very well organised - lovely scenery on par with Barns Green or Cranleigh. On balance I am not good at running in the heat which affects my time - apart from that a good say out. Date of review: June 1, 2009
