In short: A great addition to the racing calendar!
In full: A fantastic race in beautiful scenery but not one for chasing that elusive pb due to the hilly nature of the course. A dubious start upon arrival to an unknown town when we were told by a marshall that the start is "over there somewhere" (cue random hand gesture) and "apparently it starts at 1pm"! This overcome and HQ found the race started smoothly, with traffic well controlled. With water available at 2.5 and 4.5 miles this was ideal in the scorching heat but unfortunately something went arry in the calculations during the planning stages and there was no water left when I arrived at 4.5 miles and I was by no means one of the slowest runners! A slow finish ensued so as to not dehydrate and the promise of a medal at the finish was not upheld but despite that it was a race I thoroughly enjoyed and will definately return to, all new races have their teething problems and im sure next year will be amazing!

In short: Never knew Bangor had some many hills
In full: Loved this, will be returning next year if the race comes back. It would have been nice to be told the roads would be open but the Marshalls did a good job holding traffic back. It's very hilly and today was very hot, but what goes up must come down, do could be a quick race on the down hill parts.

Would have been nice to have more info about parking and bangor, for those who do not know the area.

All in all one to do a again. If this is your first you will enjoy, if your a season pro, take on the challenge and run fast. Today was made harder by the hot weather. But great race

In short: Stunning scenery and a good buzz
In full: Excellent, but the promise of a medal not kept and a few more water stations would be welcome.......all in all well worth doing.

In short: Stunning scenery. Might as well enjoy it cos there's no chance you'll get a PB!
In full: Entered this race on a whim 6 days before race day when I realised it was near to where I was staying on holiday. Nice lie-in on race morning as it was a noon start time. Undulating first 6 miles, followed by killer hill opening out into stunning lakeside view. Wonderful downhill finish. Came top in my age category. Not bad for a lass from ultra-flat Cambridgeshire!!

In short: Breath-taking scenery, breath-taking hill!!
In full: What a place to do a half marathon. Not very often do you get chance to run with such scenery all around you.
Organisation was superb, marshalls were great, the downhill part, along the lake and eventually to the finish is out of this world.
However beware, there is an almighty hill to over come about 6 miles in, and wow it hurt!!

PB out of the window when i saw that.

I will definately be doing this again next year, loved it!

One very minor thing though, could you start it a tad earluer next year? i missed seeing my team the toon destroy Liverpool!!

In short: Hard Race
In full: I live in the area so I knew the hill was going to be hard and hopefully I'll do better next year with some proper training.
The organisation was a shambles. Entered online but got no contact from the organisers until the week of the race. Registration was supposed to be at 9.00 am but didn't start until 9.30. Went to the baggage area but nobody knew where to get the tags to label your bag with. Water stops weren't where they we were said they would be. The route changed several times from inception to race day because the organisers didn't apply to get the road closed in time. I know a lot of people trained to run up a hill only to find on race day that they would be running down it instead.
Will I run next year - probably because I live in the area. I wouldn't if I had to travel.

In short: Tough but worth the effort
In full: A great challenge on a lovely course. Forget your PB and enjoy the race, all that matters is your position not your time. Have already recommended it to other runners. Didn't like the sealed water cups until I realised I could push my finger through the foil. Give it a go.
