In short: Enjoyed the landscaped gardens of Stowe. In full: My own perspective is mostly positive. Nice scenery and a challenging course. I like this race despite some of its problems. I'll be back. Date of review: October 23, 2006

In short: Oh Dear In full: I did this race last year, but I won't come back again. Why?
The main reason is they have committed the cardinal sin. Anyone reading this will be expecting to run (or have ran) a 10K race. Well per my Garmin, the course is short by over 600m. I was well inside a PB time so I should have carried running a bit further.
Of course all this is moot if you weren't on the start line at 9.55. Now I've moaned in the past when the start is delayed on a cold day, but come on! People are often driving quite a way for these things, and the least the organisers can do is wait until 10am before they start it. Good job there wasn't much of a queue in the toilets or I'd have missed the start too.
And what was it with the marshalls? I didn't hear a word of encouragement from one of them all morning.
Finally, there was the Mars Bar at the end. I heard someone describe it as "the most expensive Mars Bar [they'd] ever had". Well said sir.
Well, enough negatives, now for the positives: the scenery was nice. Date of review: October 22, 2006

In short: Starting 5 minutes early, narrow paths, and ?short? measurement spoiled what should be a good event Date of review: October 22, 2006

In short: Nice course but shame about the path at the start of the course. Made it hard to get past other runners. Date of review: October 22, 2006

In short: good race In full: A good all round race - a few hills, a few down hills, good scenery, well organised and friendly.
Potential for a PB bearing in mind the final stretch is mostly down. Only problem is you need to get out first as the first mile or so is on a narrow path and I found it got a little congested.
Enjoyable race and a good way to spend a Sunday morning Date of review: October 19, 2005

In short: A quick course as the second half is downhill with the wind behind! In full: Is it actually 10k long? Mile markers were all over the place, but overall it seemed a bit short. Date of review: October 17, 2005

In short: Picturesque but very undulating... In full: Very up-and-down, with first 3K mainly up, but gradients not too bad. The middle section through Stowe Park is very picturesque. Organisation was friendly and good. Only cricitism: the kilometre markers were pretty inaccurate in the middle of the race, and they said 'miles' on them, which confused some people.
