In short: Good Race ,Well Organised In full: A good hilly race ran in near perfect running conditions .Its a bargain race ,but I would happily pay a bit more and have chip timing .Will be back again next year . Date of review: November 24, 2013
In short: Great half marathon In full: The race certainty has one or two hills here and there but I managed to battle though. The organisation and marshalls were fantastic, and what a bargain the race is for the money, you get bananas, bottled water all round the course and at the finish, lucuzade at the end a t-shirt and flapjack. only comment is the traffic at times , but I know it would cost a lot more if you closed the roads :-) Date of review: November 24, 2013
In short: Great organisation, super run. In full: The organisation is superb (as usual). Good encouraging marshals, pleanty of free parking and clear information sent to runners beforehand.
The course is a little challenging in places, a genuine undulating course. It takes you out into the countryside and is fairly scenic. Clowne did a good job of holding the weather back this year, it was near perfect conditions in fairness.
Great event, I will be back again next year. Date of review: November 24, 2013
In short: A lovely scenic run which was very well organised. The only negative was the weather but that made it all the more challenging. Plenty of drink stations and Marshals along the way Date of review: December 1, 2012
In short: As always a challenging undulating course, very well organised with friendly marshals and runner. Particularly windy this year but it wan't unexpected. I'll be back again next year. Date of review: November 26, 2012
In short: Great Organisation as always In full: Well done to everyone at Clowne for another superbly organised race.Must be the sixth time I've done this now and it always seems to be windy!! Finished in 1.33 Will be back next year Date of review: November 26, 2012
In short: Windy In full: Windy, but I knew it would be, didn't like the main road section with the traffic at about 11 miles, tougher 1/2M than I've done in the past but I will be back nexst year. Date of review: November 26, 2012
In short: Well organised, challangeing run In full: Clowne Road Runners do a super job of organising this (and their other events). There's good parking, its very well marshaled, there's the offer of jelly beans at around 10 miles, and when you finish there's biscuits, flapjack and power drinks.
The course itself is a challenge, the wind hinders at times and helps at others. From my point of view hitting the wind at around 11 miles hurt!! Scenery was great.
I did the run in 1994, so its been awhile for me. I'll put it in the calendar for next year though.
Very well done to everyone involved. Date of review: November 26, 2012
