In short: What a disappointing goody bag.
In full: I hadn't trained so I didn't have any expectation of doing well. I enjoyed the race, but oh the cobbles, my feet are still suffering! The facilities were not so good, no marked first aid tent at the start/finish, very few loos on the course, lovely marshalls. But for the entry fee they were having a laugh with the goody bag, no banana, no chocolate, just as well I brought my own. Must try harder next year!

In short: A half marathon along an interesting course with great atmosphere
In full: I always enter the Bristol half and enjoy it.

The only downside I would say is that the sheer volume of people often means you either have to settle for a slower time or fight your way through crowds.

In short: Despite all the little things that weren't perfect, they were only little and as we were there to race, I can't fault the race.
In full: PB time for my wife and I (and apparently many others) so the race itself has to be good. Big city atmosphere for South West runners is welcome and the organisation for a road closed race must be difficult (3am start for some).
Good finish area where the 200m walk around meant the finish area was clear.
Don't moan about t-shirts etc. I don't travel 340 mile round trip because of the goody bag. Let's not lose sight of the objective. A well organised race on a good course. I'll be back.

In short: Better course than last year. Can't complain knocked 5.5mins off my PB. Couldn't find the goodie bags though not too disappointed as hear just a can of soup in them!!
In full: Route much better than last year and acutally managed a PB. Don't think this race is good value for money though. Cost is approx £30 and for that you receive a T-Shirt.... disappointed in the goodie bags, I personally need to eat after pushing myself round 13.1 miles and after the disaster of last year (to incl goodie bag) brought my own food to consume after the race, thankfully as not only couldn't I find the goodie bags but found out only a can of soup in there without relevant untensils to open and cook!! No complaints over organistion though - even though the starting times were messed up find that most people don't stick to the colour codes anyway..

In short: Course could do with a re-think
In full: Who ever thought of a goody bag containing just a tin of soup should be shot.

In short: Organisation was dreadful. And a can of soup in the goody bag!!!
In full: Was really looking forward to this race and, although I was pleased with my time, I thought the organization was dire. If I'd followed my clour coding I would have been in the 2 hours+ bracket and I finished in 1:20! Why it is going to take nearly 3 months for gents to receive their t-shirts I have no idea. Also, in terms of a goody bag I would have to say that soup is the most ridiculous 'prize' I have ever received post race.

That it cost nearly as much as the FLM means that much needs to be done to put it on a par with that event.

Come on Brissol, sort it out.

In short: It's my local so I shall no doubt be there every year
In full: They need to get rid of the obsession with having a fast course. I go on more scenic training runs. Why not run accross the Clifton suspecsion bridge.
