In short: Tough as you expect it to be. But somehow keeping back to do it.
In full: This is my fourth year of doing this run. I'm usually at the back and it's tough going through the churned up mud. I can't praise the marshalls enough. They were in plentiful supply, all at the right points and very encouraging, especially the one in the bluebell wood that guided me acroos the mud pool, when my legs were getting tired and the guys at the river crossing. I have to say I did not like the new diversions in place and it made the run seem longer? I liked the goody bag a good balance of healthy and sweet. Well done to the organisers and no doubt will be back again next year.

In short: The hills are alive............
In full: .......with the sound of heavy breathing. A fantastic race, brilliant organisation, very very supportive marshalls, really good course and a bit of everything, great river crossing to finish. That hill, whoever put that hill in that race is sadistic!!!!!! I defy anyone to run the full length of that hill, if anyone says they have then they are a liar or superhuman!!!!!! Guess what though, i'll be back next year. Definately a good idea with the bag at the end as all my wet running gear went in it. Well done to all at Stainland.

In short: Tough 10 and a bit miler..what was that about? I thought the end would be at 10 miles!
In full: Great scenery, horrific hill and then even more climbs, a few stiles, scary downhills, and thanks to last night's rain, plenty of mud, beautiful bluebells and a cooling river crossing. I said to someone on the run, we must be mental. It was great!

In short: rock hard but great at the same time
In full: I was shattered after the first 3 miles - just about recovering and then came TROOPERS LANE. I don't think I have ever seen a hill as steep as that let alone tried to run up it!! Please in the end with my time of 1.30 and will be back next year.

In short: awesome! a true gem
In full: Without doubt the highlight of my racing year, second time was better than first because i knew what to expect and noticed a lot that i missed the first time. A big thank you to ALL the marshalls who were extremely enthusiastic. Great value and very well organised. Of course the race itself is very tough but thats what makes it what it is. cant wait for next years race.
