In short: a pleasant enough race but it gets crowded in a number of places and the drinks points were poorly managed - especially at 10 miles where we virtually had to stop because of crowding, just at the point where we were looking to push on for a fast tii

In full: Many thanks to the lady with the jelly babies at mile 7- made all the difference :)All the stewards were very encouraging and the atmosphere was lovely. I had a great time, maybe because I ran a much better time than I expected, and would do this again for sure. The up-hills did me no favours but the down-hills were great

In short: My first Half Marathon, I thought it was ACE!!!!
In full: My first Half Marathon, I live in Wakefield so this is local to me. I thought the hills weren't to bad and the the first downhill bit after the top of Meanwood was brilliant (lots of support), I had done 11 miles in training and the last mile of this felt like slow motion. I would definately do it again, the finish in Millenium Square is great, I ran it in 1hr 51 so I was well chuffed!!!!

In short: Definately a race of two halves
In full: a slog up stonegate road and the ring road at meanwood, but after the half way point its pretty much downhill and a flat run back into the city. the organisation was improved from last year and the drink stations significantly better. the small bottles of water were ideal - cups usually mean wet feet! the race was well supported, especially on Kirkstall Road. A big thanks to the support from the Marshalls and those helping at the drink stations. As its my local event i will be back next year!

In short: There was lots of down hill running, and some wag playing the theme tune to Chariots of Fire, which definately quickened the step!
