In short: First time i've run this race, i never realised Newcastle was so hilly. Ran 15mins outside my personal best, excellent crowd especally the guy trtrying to give out his home made beer. Elvis was oustanding! Definitely worth the 300 mile drive from Bil

In short: First GNR, had a blast!
In full: Started from the back (K), and had to walk half a mile to get there from the park where the bus dropped us off at 08:10. Lots of loos at the back which became less than minty fresh by the time I ditched my bin bag to start running at 11:04!
Lots of lovely people lining the route who had gone out of their way to provide goodies for us, a big thanks to them. Marshalls, St Johns and all other behind the scenes people are amazing.
My only gripe would be with having to walk for what seemed like another 13.1 miles to catch the bus back to our hotel! My legs were shot at the finish line....and nuff said about the fruit snacks in the goody bag!

In short: A great day our!
In full: Don't think of this as a race. It's a huge social occasion like Glastonbury. Just go with the flow and enjoy.

In short: Cant get a PB from pen J!!!!!!!
In full: First time for me and to be fair, it an awesome ride....i do have complaints, but there not really about the race itself.

I finished in 1:54 from the back pen (J), next year ill jump the fence like all the others after a PB at pen B....cheats.

The Expo was pants - when are they going to learn that a show that just sells and markets stuff is shit where were the physios, and i could buy cheaper lucozade at ASDA what a con.....i would never pay for that crap. and next year i will not bother, i could have made a better pasta in the hostal.

As for a PB well no chance if your in the back, they should advise slow runners to stay left which includes those that want to stop? or walk and allow the fast runners to pass on the right just like on the motorway not hard to forget really as your running on one.

The Sat was great, seeing all those world class runner was fantastic and you could so close. Met steve cram too. the hostal and geordie chram was abumdant and the crowds were fantastic, i had my name on me shirt and kids shouted at me as well as soaking me all the way along. fantastic.

You must do it al least once, and i will looking to do it again next year.

They have got to get this chraity marketing sales pitch crap out of running we after 6 months of training on our own are simply not interested, they should start giving places to people and then let them decide which charity they run for or not as the case may be.

I have to say thanks to Yorkshire Cancer who i ran for, for the great food spread at the end...stuffed me face whikst laying in the sun.

In short: The spirit of this run was fantastic
In full: I'm from the north east so I know all about the passion, this was incredible. The first organised race I've done and I'll not miss another GNR. I met some great people and had an absolute blast.

In short: Amazing Atmosphere
In full: This is the first time I have done the North Run and ran for Breast Cancer Care, What can I say except that I had the most amazing day, the locals and supporters were brilliant and made the race so much more worthwhile, could be a little difficult at times getting round people walking but i will be back next year!

The goody bag did seem to be sparse compared to what they contained all the other years my boyfriend has had one!

Overall I can say I had one of the best days ever and doing it for Charity made it even more special!

In short: My 7th GNR and the best one !
In full: Managed a PB for the 1st time in a great north run ! Started in Pen B so didn't really have a problem with people walking.

I thought on entry you had to "proove" the time you put down by linking to another race with your results in !

Anyway the Great North Run is a fab day out, you get to run with 50000 other folk and get a nice t-shirt & medal at the end !
