In short: More water stations needed but overall not bad - particularly good for first timers. In full: A bit impersonal but I suppose that's natural when there are 12,000 runners. The marshalls and stewards were not that friendly but overall there was good support - especially if you had your name on your vest. Date of review: July 21, 2008

In short: Lovely race, good organisation, nice medal In full: I really liked the race - I did prefer the Asics a couple of weeks ago, but I think that that was because I loved running in traffic-free Central London. I didn't think the loo situation was so bad, but I had expected it to be really awful. The only thing is that it might've been nice if the water stations had been more frequent and also perhaps a bit sooner on the course? I had my own water with me so was fine, but if I hadn't then I don't think I would've made it to 5.5k on such a humid day. I found the wave system excellent and most people had guessed their times fairly accurately. Also people were quite considerate and all the walkers in front of me were all to the side - I didn't find any in the middle of the course.
Great medal and lovely atmosphere, will definitely do it again next year. Date of review: July 21, 2008

In short: Fun day out and PB to boot!! In full: I found this to be a great race - I really enjoyed it and was amazed at running with so many people. The wave system at the start really worked and there were very few problems for me on course except for the odd passer-by trying to cross in front of runners (but what can you expect - not everyone is there for the race). Was surprised that there weren't more marshalls but it didn't seem to be too much of an issue. Will be back next year. Date of review: July 21, 2008

In short: Lovely day! In full: This was third 10k in London this summer and finally the weather agreed with me! Race was well organised, apart from the inadequate number of toilets! Enourmous queues past starting time! And marshalls are needed in the last turning, where people were crashing into the pedestrians who weren't looking out for anyone/anything! In short: A great place for a big event and well organised except for the lack of toilets Date of review: July 21, 2008

In short: Brilliant organisation, only spoiled by severe lack of loos In full: This was my first Great Run race and I was extremely impressed with the slick organisation, starting with the on line registration and ending with receiving the goody bag containing a quality teeshirt and medal, with various other bits and pieces. As many others have said, the only real issue I have is with the shortage of loos; ask the people who organise the Reading Half Marathon how many loos are needed. No queueing there and it was a similar sized event.
Thanks to all fellow runners, marshalls and crowd - you were great! Also thanks to the drummers and the steel bnd, but I agree with some other reviwers who said more could have been provided in the way of music, it definately gives you a lift. Weather just right and the feeling when crossing the finishing line was just fantastic. Will definately do other runs in the Great Run series. Date of review: July 21, 2008

In short: Super-quick course, excellent organisation, no hold-ups even mid-pack. In full: Was very pleasantly surprised by this one - I thought it would be a squashed game of dodge the walker, but the start 'wave' system worked brilliantly, there was room to move from the start with people at the same speed, and a great speedy course to boot. I don't normally like big races, but I'll be back for this one. Date of review: July 21, 2008

In short: Fun run in a great central location In full: Huge improvement on the baggage side over last year, thank you for taking all the feedback on board and making those changes! Starting wave system worked well again, wish more of the big participation races did the same 'cos it does help (the odd straggler notwithstanding).
Perhaps next year, there could be a few more loos. I wasn't affected too much but a few more would have been good. Agree also with other comments about spectators narrowing certain parts of the route and given Capital Radio were sponsoring I would have expected much more music.
All said, it's a good run around Hyde Park and I look forward to doing it again next year. Date of review: July 21, 2008

In short: Crowded but well organised - and great fun! In full: There hasn't been a Great Run yet that I haven't enjoyed - and this was no exception! The crowded course did mean a little bit of dodging around other runners occasionally in the narrower sections but on the whole I thought most had estimated their finish time pretty accurately. I was only seconds off my 10k PB which was a pleasant surprise too. Lovely flat course and great atmosphere - especially at the finish. I'll be back next year! Date of review: July 21, 2008
