In short: Great race but organisation needs improving.
In full: Having travelled the 90 miles to do this race it was dissapointing to have a delay at the start. I was like a coiled spring ready to go at 10am. It was a good five minutes after this that we heard that the start was delayed. Maybe the fact that numbers and chips had to be collected on the day contributed to the delay ??
Apart from that a cracking course with a few challenging hills. Well marshalled. I do wish that the course could be modified to take out the sharp climb at the beginning and descent at the end. Its congested at the beginning and having had some rain on it this time it was harzardous getting down... not easy to stay on your feet. Having said all that I'd probably do it again !!

In short: As someone new to running I found it really challenging
In full: The scenery was amazing, the marshalls were kind and supportive. The loos and shower facilities were poor although I appreciate we could have used the swimming pool. I thought the drop into the actual finish reminded me of the Great Cheese Run - am surprised there weren't injuries there especially with tired legs. Also the trek round the pitch at the end I found hard. As a positive I think it is one of the hardest things I have ever done and I am so happy I finished it.

In short: Apart from delay to start I thought this was a very good event
In full: Special mention to slick late entry desk and baggage team, very good. I had to ask for directions to entries so perhaps better signs, but then again I only had to ask! Marshalls on the road were nice and great job collecting our cups. Pub was good on way back to car, sorry weakness came over me. I enjoyed this race and a brisk walk from good parking did me good. Thanks team.

In short: Enjoyable course - some organisational issues !
In full: Undulating but not too scary course - very scenic traffic free course. Start/Finish ares good ...but certainly some organisational issues that need firmer control - 'non arrival?" of portaloos delayed start by 15mins with communication to waiting/anxious runners poor; bad signage around school of registration/baggage areas; water stops a bit muddled at times; long walk from car park; basic medal/water ..been getting used to goodie bags elsewhere lately !; course may not of needed too many marshals but sadly only about 1 in 5 of them seemed cheerful/attentive/supportive - had expected more of BJ's ! Am sure they can sort these niggles for next time ...

In short: beautiful scenery, good course, some challenges
In full: great setting at the school for start and finish. Hills prevented PB but scenery splendid and quite varied. Really enjoyed the run. some stewards really encouraging. thanks to organisers in spite of a few blips. Nice to get medal engraved on spot.

In short: well worth the visit from up"tnorth"
In full: The walk to and from the car park was not a problem as this was publicised prior to the event.
Lack of ladies toilets was an issue but I understand this was beyond the control of the organisers
A very friendly event which I wholehartedly endorse with the proviso that for a "first-timer " it is a little toughie.

In short: Traffic free/ well marshalled/ great location
In full: First time I've done this one and very impressed. Didn't think the hills were as bad as people made out (ok the last 2 miles were a bit of a challenge for tired legs). Great organisation and support from Marshalls and brilliant location. Use of the school grounds is esp good. It helped to have the brief rain shower to counteract the heat. Will definitely try and do this one again next year.

In short: very enjoyable, fantastic atmosphere, and friendly
In full: nice venue and coarse, with a good atmosphere, with plenty going on at the start/finish, for supporters and competitors, shame you had to park so far away, but i guess this made for a good warm up and warm down,i didn't think the coarse was as hilly as people were saying, just undulating, and a couple of points i would like to note, firstly i had to chuckle at the amount of leaflets on my windscreen when i got back to the car, and did anyone notice the chalkboard at slough youth footie club, it read members only on the way to the race, with a couple of members blocking the entrance, and a big welcome on the way back, members free. haha

In short: Nice race - organisation needs work
In full: Pros:
Nice two lap course - very quite roads
Great marshalls
Nice medal

Cons:
No portaloos
No goody bag - just water and medal
PA system couldn't be heard - even the air horn for the start wouldn't work
