In short: Well organised, good fun event
In full: Very well organised, loved the finish into the stadium (although did start my sprint a bit too early not realising that we had to do 3/4 of a lap of the pitch!). Nice atmosphere and a pretty level, well surfaced course. Excellent marshalls and an encouraging drumming band half way round helped me keep my pace up.

My Garmin measured the course at 10.12km (and each km marker seemed about 100m further than my watch from about 4km on), but I'm probably picking hairs as I still managed a PB.

Water station would have been better placed in the second half of the course and serving it in cups not bottles made it pretty difficult to actually drink any!

Would defnintely do again.

In short: Enjoyable 10k, good for beginners.
In full: This is my local race and the first 10k I've entered, the only other serious race I'd entered was the Great North run last year.

Clearly it was never going to be on such a grand scale as that but the course was interesting enough through the city centre and it was nice to finish in Pride Park Stadium. I thought it was very well organised and I was very happy to put in a much much improved PB!

In short: Great race!!!!!
In full: First time I have done this 10k - but have to say, really enjoyed it, and this is possibly now my favorite 10k race!!!
Due to struggling with a niggling injury, decided to use this as a Sunday training run rather than to'go for it', but this course has definite PB potential. Really enjoyed the run through the City, and the supprt from spectators was great.
Will definitely be back next year!!!!

In short: This is well worth turning out for. Brill t-shirt
In full: The weather was fab, excellent atmosphere, a real family affair. Coming into Pride Park is a great way of finishing the race.It was well organised and parking worked like a dream. Thank you to all the marshalls and events organisers for a fab morning. Better than staying in bed!!!

In short: A great race again with lots of crowd support all around the course
In full: I enjoyed this again this year though still unsure of the actual distance of the course and I would question its accuracy. However, being my home town I loved it!

In short: Better conditions than last year - PB clocked in 2009!!!!
In full: The course this year was about 100m longer than last year and despite that I managed a personal PB, beating last year's time by 1:29. Weather much better than in 2008. Course just as challenging, especially the bridge over the railway at 6.5k - that's a beast. Will do again next year.

In short: Pleasant trot round the city centre, well organised, well worth a punt i say!
In full: Race has a good atmosphere, whole family came and entered fun run as well.
Race was mildly challenging, few short inclines, but more than makes up for this with some hideous, almost 180 degree turns! The one where you go downhill then a 180 into a steep uphill climb could be quite demoralising for some.
However, dont let this detract from a very well organised and quick route, lacking in spectators in the city centre, wierdly. Quite good to see other runners where the routes doubled back on themselves, got a look at the leaders at one point.
The family and I all enjoyed this alot, i knocked 2mins 30 off my PB and will defo be back next year.

In short: Twisty, turning, bit drab- but lots of fun!
In full: This is my local 10k, so I like to turn out for this one- and as always, it's fun , but not without a few niggles. The course admittedly is a bit dull- going through an industrial estate, and the back end of derby's park (rather than previous years when you run through the park , but it DID get very congested on those narrow lanes!!)
The VERY sharp turns through the course were very annoying (some were almost 180 degrees- vey slowing), but that's what you get if you do this race.
Bit pricey, but the t-shirt is great quality, and generally was very well run and everyone seemed to be making an effort.Pacers had a strange system of their own with timing- the sub-50 guy nipped off at the start and was too quick to keep up with!- I got a sub 50 time, but didn't see him for most of the course!
....but, as always, I'll be back next year!!

In short: A fab race spoiled only by the poor measurement of the distance.
