In short: Killer hills with beautiful scenery In full: To keep it short, the hills are very tough, whilst the scenery is glorious. Although the support is understandably sparse in some places, it is still very enthusiastic. Fantastic organisation and lastly great T-Shirt!!!!! Date of review: October 10, 2007

In short: Tough, but worth it. In full: Thoroughly enjoyed my 2nd ever marathon. Managed to knock 35 minutes off my London time - probably sue to there being 34,000 less people in the way! Well organised, good weather and glorious scenery. If you're a soup fan then the goody bag is just the thing for you! Would definitely do it again. Date of review: October 10, 2007

In short: Brilliant race In full: I came back to do this again with the intention of beating last year's time but due to illness and injury this wasn't on but I had a brilliant time. It was hard but I got round which is the main thing and I will be back next year!
The organisers manage to pull this off like clockwork - well done to them! Date of review: October 9, 2007

In short: My first marathon, and I loved it. Glad I picked this one. In full: A fantastic weekend in all. Weather just right. Well organized from start to finish. Great support from the locals. Plenty of well manned water stops, well done to everyone involved in this race, be very proud of yourselves. I can't think of anything negative to say at all. I must admit I ignored the warm up, it seemed more important to stay in the loo queue. Hope to be back next year. Date of review: October 9, 2007

In short: Beautiful Scenery, Perfect running conditions, Crowd where present fantastic ,almost faultless organization In full: My 2nd marathon and a complete contrast to London. Being driven in groups to the start line is a great idea, especially with that scenery to greet you at the start. Being such a rural race the atmosphere was a bit flat but the crowd, where present were brilliant especially in Doress and Inverness.
Course generally down hill but some steepish climbs mostly within the first 3rd but also in Doress between 18 and 20 miles, so fairly quick
My only slight annoyance was the organization at the start with people being dropped off before the start line and having the luggage van and most of the toilets after the start line. It was a bit chaotic during the last half an hour before the start with people trying to dash between the drop off point, toilets and the luggage van with people gathering behind the start line in the middle. Apart from that a fantastic race and one I hope to do again

In short: Fantastic and friendly In full: Course was a bit hillier than the literature suggested, but fellow runners warned me the day before so I was at least a bit better prepared mentally! Gorgeous scenery, brilliant running conditions, and some really nice touches from the race organisers as well as very efficient handling of 'the basics'. I'd definitely be back.
