In short: Cheerful marshalls and a few small hills
In full: Was going ok until my knee went after 3 miles. Hobbled the rest of the way round. A big thank you to those fellow runners who expressed concern. And another big thank you to the marshalls, I'd rather run than stand around in that weather.

Good t-shirt and loads of choccy.

Will definitely be back in 2010 to take 15 minutes off my time!

Does anyone want to buy a jar of Gold Blend...?

In short: Very hilly combined with apalling weather conditions
In full: I would rate the hills, as in Runners World, being one of the top hard challenges. The weather made this race hardwork and the road race was more cross country in places. More toilets this year and goody bag made it almost worth doing.

In short: Very very hilly, yet very very rewarding. "The Brute" is a major challenge! Great atmosphere and fantastic organisation. Cannot wait for next year ! Let's hope it does not rain next year !!!!
In full: I loved this race, "hilly" does not do it justice, the ups are hard and take it out of your legs, but then there are the glorious down sections, these allow you to open up and achieve your best mile times ever.
This year the rain came along in buckets, however everybody at the start line was in good spirit (though we were all dripping wet before the start of the race; yes the rain was that bad !!!!).
But once we were off, the race was magnificant,I really enjoyed the challenge and I cannot praise the organisation enough. The Marshalls were fantastic and gave you encouragement all the way round.
The "goody bag" is an added bonus and the shirts are very good.

WELL DONE .. Nidd Valley Road Runners, I cannot wait for next year!!!!!!!!!!

In short: Still my favourite race - even the weather couldnt stop the fun
In full: I love this race, the goody bags, the marshalls who stood in the rain and kept smiling, the t-shirt that is actually good quality and fits, and the course :)
Slowest Ive run it yet but that was expected - will be back next year definitely

In short: Fantastic!!!
In full: Drenched & soaked to the skin before the start! Warmed up once underway and thoroughly enjoyed it. You were either running up hill or running down hill, there didnt seem to be any level road inbetween. Nice start and finish in the grounds and courtyard of Ripley Castle. I managed a pb so was over the moon with my time despite the rain & mud. Very well organised, great marshalls and a fantastic choccy filled goody bag & t-shirt at the finish. I'll definately do this one again next year. Well done Nidd Valley Road Runners!!!

In short: Great race pity about the weather.
In full: I was determined to run in this race despite having developed a cold a few days prior,I think that it may now be changing to flu thanks to the continuos rain throughout. However well marshalled great goody bag well done once again to Nidd Valley Runners.
