In short: Muddy fun!
In full: Wettest, muddiest and coldest Slog I've done but had a brilliant time, as always. Thanks to the spectators for standing around in the cold and wet for hours, and especially to all the marshalls who were unfailingly cheerful, encouraging and fun! Got a kiss just past the kissing gate from one and gave another a very muddy hug - good sports, all of you. A very special race, superbly organised and guaranteed to make you grin! Well done to everyone for organising, spectating and taking part on what was a foul day. Roll on next year!!

In short: Mother said to avoid mud & puddles!
In full: After 50 years (actually my 50th birthday on Slog day), I still managed to ignore my mother's advice, to avoid mud & puddles. My 2nd time for the Slog and this year was extra special. Apart from celebrating my half-century on the day of the Slog itself, the weather conditions before and during meant a gruelling mixture of mud & lakes! Well done to organisers and marshalls and the cheery crowds who braved the conditions - especially the ones that sang 'Happy Birthday'. Loved every minute of it. Definitely a race to make you walk tall or maybe that was my mud platforms after navigating those ploughed fields!

In short: Best off road race ever......despite to cold!!!
In full: Oh what fun 2nd year I have done it! Will be back next year too!! Had a blast last year but this year even better! I am still amazed as to where you find the mud after!! Well done to all the marshalls and the fantastic organisation again by all involved!! Missed the hot tubs though this year as I couldn't stop shaking for what seemed like hours after!! Well done I was well and truly SLOGGED!!!!!

In short: OMG - my lips actually turned blue!!!
In full: First time although my runner friends have done it many times.
Runny mud waist high several times, can't wait to see the pics. Sharp posts in the last "river" which did do some damage to my shins :-(
Moving start with the last post played, excellent marshalling - I can't decide if they were colder than me or not?? A little too long hanging around at the stiles when we were so wet & cold and the cold showers at the end contributed to my "blue lips" - I've never been so cold!!
But, I will see you there again next year. Run it with a friend, what a laugh!!!

In short: I now have webbed feet!
In full: Yet again, Gordon Robbins comes up trumps with his team from Bitton Road Runners. Great organisation (barring the queue for the stile near 'Slurry Farm') The plunge pool made an exhilarating and hilarious change to the hill and The Lake, as did the the waist-deep water on the Common. Cold, wet, covered in mud. Loved it! Will be back again next year.

In short: Still got mud behind the ears
In full: 3rd time & a lot, lot wetter. Shame about the course change & missing the lake/bog but great to see that a very good alternative (A couple of miles of ploughed fields) Extended river excursion at the end was a bonus. Shame on you those who took the easy river bank option

In short: I have never been so cold, wet and muddy after any race, roll on next year!!!e
In full: This was my first Slog and it had been built up as this fantastic race and I was not disappointed. The organisation was fantastic, marshals were friendly and encouraging and even though the weather was awful, plenty of support especially at the lake. This is by far the most enjoyable race I have ever entered and would certainly recommend it to anyone.

In short: Conditions were supposedly worse than last year, but I thought it was just as it should be nice and wet and muddy.
