In full: A fantastic race with great organisation from everyone at Bitton runners.Congratulations to Gordon Robbins for coming up with the great new course, keep the sheep dip ditch in at all costs, it was a hoot going through it. I've never been as filthy in my life i car'nt wait to romp through it all again.Incidentally i met a bloke while waiting to go through the ditch, his knees were'nt even dirty he had obviously wimped his way round the mud, don't enter again, its not for you !

In short: Complete Muddy Madness!
In full: I love the Sodbury Slog, and this year was no exception, the new route was fab. The organisation was as always faultless, with extra thanks to Bitton for all the very hard work put in negotiating the new route and keeping the legendry slog going. The marshalls were brilliant, special thanks to the guy who got stuck into the mud to help pull us out at the 'sheep dip', we amused ourselves with mexican waves and general chit chat whilst queuing for this delight - great camaraderie amongst the runners.
The goody bag, free bananaa, water & t-shirt make this run one of the best values for money ever!
Well done & thank you Bitton, I'll be back next year!

In short: Another excellent Slog, despite all the problems the organisers had to overcome.
In full: Congratulation and grateful thanks to the organisers for another excellent Slog in 2009. This is always a special race. It is not as hard as the Rough 'n' Tumble and Terminator races (they have far more hills) but the glutinous Sodbury mud always makes for tough running. The issues with the enforced change of route, and the building work at the school were overcome with seeming ease (I suspect a lot of work went into finding the new route). In many ways I enjoyed doing something different this year - it kept things fresh.
My only serious gripe is this - at the slower end of the field (I finished in 921st place) the water obstacle just before 5 miles became a very large bottleneck. I had to wait around 20 minutes to get through this, and it was shame, as the weather was cold and it rapidly became 'not fun anymore'. I can't really suggest how this problem can be avoided, other than haiving less runners (a bad thing) or finding a mud crossing that can accommodate more runners in one go.
So overall well done to the organisers and we'll be back next year!
