In short: Another success for Bitton!
In full: My 6th consecutive year - this is the only race that I never get bored of! Superb organisation by Bitton, fantastic friendly atmosphere, the high from this race lasts for days!! Always leaves a big smile on my face. Can we have more deeper mud next year please??? At almost 6ft tall it didn't quite reach chest height! Here's looking forward to 2012!

In short: Amazing muddy run!
In full: I did the slog for the first time last year and instantly it became a favourite. I would travel from abroad to come back to this race.

Organisation is fantastic, crowds are brilliant, the course just makes you grin like an idiot the whole way round and the 2 minute silence prior to the race is a great moment for all to remember those lost.

Slight shame that there is no longer a race t-shirt in the goodie bag and my only tiny tiny fault is that the goodie bag seemed far less quality this year than before.

Also, have to laugh at those who entered the slog and did their best to avoid all the mud, not really sure of the point since the slog is known for the mud. Just get in and enjoy yourself!

All in all a fantastic run (despite losing my shoe!So glad I found it again!)

In short: Never fails to tick all the boxes!
In full: Although the 'new' course can't quite compete with the old one, there was as much mud and water as Gordon could find, and little or no queues to get in or out of the ditches! Lovely to have the towel instead of the usual t-shirt, and the goodie-bag was better then most. The day is always made special by the 2-minute silence and Last Post before the start, and it allows you to reflect when the going gets tough later in the race! Thanks Bitton RR.

In short: Haunted by ...
In full: the ghosts of Slogs past when I was overtaken by a man dressed as a banana. As usual the race was wonderful and, unusually, so was the weather. Galloping cows, cow pats and criminal amounts of mud all added to the experience.

The only gripe is having to queue for the finish line. I felt the longer it became the more irrelevant 'finishing' times were. Also having to queue for goody bag/drink didn't seem as well organised as previous years.

I recommend it: the most fun you can have in public on a Sunday morning whilst wearing lycra tights and a vest. Thanks to the marshall who high-fived me at mile four or was it five?(he wore a dress, pink tights and a red wig) All normal for the Slog.
