In short: Lovely country run
In full: Hills not as bad as I thought they would be. Hadn't trained on hill and managed to run them all. Lovely sunny day - great scenery. Recommended!

In short: Great first half marathon
In full: I thoroughly enjoyed my first half marathon race though would prefer no hills....but wouldn't everyone! Good camaraderie and well organised I thought with lots of smiley and clapping marshalls. Parking could have been tricky if you were late...but what can you expect with 2000 people! We got there for 9.30am and parked without a problem in the college. Abundance of toilets as someone else has mentioned but typically too many people simply queued at the nearest one to the main hall without investigating other ones. I managed several trips to some based through the canteen (which were well signed) and on each visit got straight in without queuing!

In short: Wot no car parking???
In full: As with last year all the car parks were full and we had to park (sorry!) outside someones house quite a walk away. The race itself was lovely I have to say (got a PB!) but it was a little messy where you come over the line and no-one knows where to go for t-shirts/drinks. It would be nice to have had a bag storage in the park since although it was a beautiful day it cooled down very quickly. Very disappointed however it is Tuesday morning and there is no sign of the results!!??

In short: Nice and hilly, with lovely scenery once you leave Watford!
In full: First half marathon and really enjoyed it - a couple of the hills were pretty tough, but should be good practice. No major blister damage thanks to a miraculous invention called Fuzzy Web! Friendly runners and generally seemed well organised, (could have done with a bit of bling at the end though!)

In short: Excellent first half marathon - although very trying on the hills, to complete it non stop is very rewarding

In short: More Hills than most cross country races!
In full: Thoroughly enjoyed it though, perhaps not so much at the time when climbing several hills!! Only real problem was some mile markers were hard to see.

In short: Well Organised
In full: Great marshalling with lots of encouragement as I needed it. Dunno about the false finish as mentioned earlier and I really don't see the need for timing chips. In this case I didn't want to know the time anyway.

Yes it is a mixture of town and countryside but setting off from Downtown Watford it was never going to be picture book all the way. At least in the suburban areas some peeps did come out of their houses to offer some encouragement or to stare bewildered as a stream of sweaty bods went by, stopping them from gettng their 4x4 out to go to Asda.

In short: When I've forgotten all those hills, this will seem like a great race to run in!
In full: Well organised.
Even the chap from the Fast Feet shop offered to look after my bag in order to save me time at the start.
Nice T-shirt.
Will definitely do it again.
