In short: A sublime experience
In full: This was my first Marathon . . . and I’m so pleased it was this one. It was tough. Probably the toughest 3 hours 36 minutes of my life. The setting was perfect and the route was fantastic, even the little ‘sickener’ near the end up the small slightly dreary lane. You certainly feel a sense of achievement after this one. My small gripe would be after finishing and being slightly traumatised I would have liked it to be have been a bit easier to find my bag which was out of the main tent and a better place to get changed.
I can't wait until next year though.

In short: Amazing experience - if you've trained for the hills!
In full: Fantastic race after nine months training effort to prepare, although nothing quite prepared me for how I felt running up the hardest hill at the end, especially the cramp I got just after I started to run again!! The support from fellow runners make this race a real pleasure to take part in, and the staunch volunteers and supporters deserve all the real praise for being so helpful and enthusiastic all the way round, especially in the pouring rain from midday. Great organisation, superb mementos and very welcome tea and biscuits at the end! If you want to run a REAL marathon, you have to run this!!

In short: Wow - you have to do this at least once
In full: Hugely enjoyable race and can only echo all the previous reviews.
Loved the Saturday date, great organisation and they did themselves proud in thier 25th year. Nothing could have prepared me for the hill - up and down at 21 through 25 - could not believe how relived i was to be going downhill at last only to find that my legs would not work to carry me down. Just a very very minor grumble - would have liked a medal instead of the coaster.

In short: Exhilarating
In full: Agreed; never a PB marathon course but at least you can still set your fastest mile within a marathon!: coming down from Pen-y-pass and seeing the road and race stretch out down Nantgwynant must be one of the best sights / feelings in road racing - will never forget it. Thanks to all those that made it possible.

In short: A race you should do at least once !
In full: There was more flat(ish) than I thought but having to skip over stoney ground on the last one is hard for aching legs. Felt like I had really run something worth running and can only imagine with good weather it could be glorious.

In short: Simply the BEST
In full: The organisation this year was if anything, even better. Everything you need to run a marathon, nothing unnecessary. I love the coaster and cup of tea and biscuits at the end instead of the usual carrier bag full of rubbish and cold squash.

The marshalls and water station volunteers are TREMENDOUS at this race - they manage to be efficient and so encouraging and friendly at the same time.

If you're not frightened of hills and can run the distance in a reasonable time, there's no reason not to enter this race - just make sure you turn up (can't believe 20% of the registered entrants didn't start - you missed a cracker!).
