In short: I came back for another go at this one!! In full: After last years excellent first marathon and my second one at the disgracefully badly organised Blackpool marathon,my third one just had to be back at ABINGDON! Yes, here they know how to organise things and i would encourage anyone thinking of doing a marathon to try this one first.I only beat my last years time by about 40 seconds (ran the first 18 miles too fast!!)but hey there is always next year! In short: A very friendly, well-organised race... In full: ... and if they could only shorten it by about 7 miles I would add "enjoyable"! An excellent run, fast and flat. Will certainly be back for more next time. Date of review: October 18, 2005
In short: Superb organisation & course. Highly recommended In full: I think the girls on Mile 24 could start their own fan club!
Excellent race with great support all the way round and some lovely scenic villages and countryside. It was nice to run through the centre of Abingdon instead of round the outside which would have been easier to marshall but not as much fun for the runners. Even most of the motorists seemed pretty courteous!
Getting a medal and a photo are ideal momentos from any race and the cup of coffee and a biscuit afterwards was a nice touch. Geat showers too.
My only regret was that I wasn't quite fit enough to get a PB on what was a fast course. Thanks to everyone for their efforts in organising and supporting this - a brilliant race all round. Date of review: October 18, 2005
In short: Another brilliantly organised Mara from Abingdon Amblers In full: Great Course. Great Marshalls. Great Venue. No complaints from me!! I'll be back in 2006 for a 3rd year. Date of review: October 18, 2005
