In short: Flat, pleasant, well organised and popular
In full: Apart from a few minor gripes already covered; bottleneck, not really enough baggage storage, could have done with water on hand at end. The heat of the day can't be changed, but is the order of events set in stone? 11.30 does make the longest event most susceptible to the heat.
The plusses easily outweigh that though, nice goody bag with fruit, food etc, nice medal, lovely scenery, an ample field to provide company but not restrict (once it got going), nice pre/post facilities (with showers!), empathetic organisers and key staff. Well done Mike, you should be proud of what you put on.

In short: Fast course, great organisation, loads of water and a stadium finish. Well worth making the effort for. Congratulations to all concerned.
In full: Fast, almost flat, out&back course from dedicated athletics stadium in Carlisle. Excellent facilities before and after (though the car park was a bit full - may need to look at this if the race gets any bigger) and well marshalled throughout. More water stations than I've seen at any previous half. There's a couple of bottlenecks early on in the existing route but the organisers have already indicated that they intend to try and alleviate this minor grip for next year.

Overall, theres something for everyone. Its a good day out for the family - who can enter a genuinely 'fun' family fun run or there's a 4.5 mile race for those who don't fancy the half.

In short: Great course. But maybe it's getting too big!!! as lanes and paths were crowded and quite dangerous at times!! - but over all brilliant!
In full: Beautiful scenery, excellent water stations throughout and great atmosphere. I only wish more of the marshalls were friendly and encouraging - some were totally bored and disinterested.
Would have been useful to have water at the finish line too.
But despite a few minor gripes I would do the run again and would recommend it to anyone esp first timers!!!

In short: Friendly people, flat course, PB for a half marathon by 6.5 mins. T-shirts and medals good. Drove back to Newcastle with smile on face.
In full: Excellent race. Bit warm but not complaining. Course fine not totally flat but not brutal either and was quite scenic. Would definately do it again next year. Starting in the town centre and finishing in the stadium may help get rid of the early bottleneck.

One gripe is that the marshals were not the most encouraging you'll ever find. There are not many people out on those country roads and being encouraged to keep running or told you are doing well can make such a difference even if both of you know its a lie!!!!

In short: Lovely waether but not for 1/2 marathons!
In full: Still retains its feel good factor, although start needs to be put elsewhere due to bottlenecking. Excellant Race and excellant value

In short: Excellent course. Mildly undulating over parkland and quiet roads. P.B. potential as out and back course with return slightly downhill. Excellent facilities and good oranisation. Much better tyan Great North Run which is boring, over-rated and crowde
