In short: It didn't feel that hilly on the drive thru the day before!!!
In full: Seriously though, my first half - possibly a bit hard core but enjoyable for all that although I was a grumpy cow for the last 2 or 3 miles! Excellent support all the way round. Water stations good and the scouts were great! Shame those on a time of more than 2 hours missed out on energy giving chocolate and orange segments though and to the lady marshal directing runners before the run down into the old town and onto the sea front, I am NOT a 'straggler'thank you very much!

In short: Fantastic Sunday in the sun
In full: 2nd ever half marathon (first in UK) Outstanding crowd support, beautiful seaside town, glorious weather. The long hill was a challange but worth it for the views from the top! Lovely finish along the sea front even if the mile markers seamed to be getting further and further appart!, or maybe that was me! Thanks Hastings, see you next year!

In short: One long hill!!
In full: Hastings Half Marathon was a first for me. I have run other half marathons but nothing quite like this! Despite it being a very tough race, I thoroughly enjoyed it and the support was fantastic. Thank you Hastings for the entertainment it made the race so much easier!I would recommend this to people who are training for the marathon.

In short: Hard to beat again
In full: Great route, loved the hills - although hard they seem to bring out the best in you!
People of Hastings were fantastic, my favourites are the folk from the old peoples home at about 8 miles just before the steep uphill - saucepans, whistles the lot!

In short: If you do one half do this one
In full: Always a special race. This was my seventh and will be back for more. It always feels like spring has arrived as I drive down the A21 to this race and look forward to the long run up Queeensway. The race gets bigger every year but the prganisers do not seem to have a problem. It is getting busy around the start/finish though and this could be tricky for beginners - it worke dfor 2500 runners but now with nearer 5000 a rethink is probably needed. Main problem is lack of toilets at the start - the portaloos are not a replacement ofr the old public convenience and there are too many people using the beach. Support is amazing though (I always look forward to the roundabout at 6 miles and the church choir at 7 miles) and the course is excellent and the weather was probably the best yet.

In short: Excellent, as usual
In full: Not the best half marathon in GB, as voted in Runners World but the best in the world!
Always fantastic crowd support, very well organised, great momento, good route. The only way to improve now (without flattening the hill) is to provide more/or better signposted loos en route.

In short: Brilliant race, now I know why it got its reputation.
In full: The support from the people of Hastings was amazing, especially from those at the roundabout. The shouts, whistles, rattles and music helped to spur you on. Well worth doing!
