In short: Superbly organised race, with good atmosphere and scenery In full: Tip-top organisation - I know of at least one big city marathon (Dublin) where the organisers could learn a lot from this race. Really nice course, a little more undulating than expected, although maybe the headwind over the first few miles made it feel hillier than it really was. Tailwind and downhill later on rescued my PB. In short: Cold and windy but worth the trip. In full: Very good race - classy T shirt. My only critism is that of the pacers which are a very good idea however due to the narrowness of the start I found it difficult to pass the 1:30 group until after mile 1. Quite how this dilema could be resolved I don't know (maybe it's my fault for wanting to stop in the warm that little bit longer). Date of review: November 19, 2007
In short: amazing race! In full: what brilliant organisation. Riverside - you could teach the others a thing or two. Lovely course, pretty villages - I was trying to work out if I could afford any of those gorgeous houses - I can't! Amazing marshalls who must have been frozen, results posted within 10 minutes of finishing, photos on the website by the time I got home - what more can I say - you guys are amazing Date of review: November 19, 2007
In short: Fantastic race, great organisation! In full: This race was very well organised with a good route. The goody bag was the best ever and the marshalls were very encouraging.
It was my first half so I aimed just to get round but people trying to get a PB should like this race. My partner managed to shave 6 mins of his PB to finish in 1:27:46, he was very grateful to the 1:30 pacers who helped him improve his time.
I want to do this again next year! Date of review: November 19, 2007
In short: A well organised and fun half marathon In full: Many Thanks to riverside runners for their efforts in staging a great race. I enjoyed the course which provided a decent challenge in the first half and gave you a bit back later on. The race facilities were good and provided a warm retreat on a chilly day and also coped with all the runners and spectators needs. The goody bag and T-shirt were also very welcome (anything with sweets in is good)
Lastly a big thanks to the many marshalls who must have been frozen I especially liked the one with the rattles (made me smile anyway) Date of review: November 19, 2007
In short: My 4th year and it keeps getting better In full: OK so the head wind nearly killed my by mile 4 but I still love this event and cannot see a year when I wont enter. The marshalls are just the best. Date of review: November 19, 2007
