In short: Close to perfect! (Very, very close.)
In full: Excellent course, flat and scenic, well marshalled, accurate mile markers, roads not too busy, good finish arrangements with hot/cold drinks and food - what more could you want? Well, a bit more publicity perhaps - I met no-one in Dumfries who knew event was on (hotel, restaurant, bar, etc) - and slightly clearer maps of start/finish showing the parking close to the finish.

In short: My first marathon, good choice, nice weather and organisation
In full: Pleasant event. Well organised, with water stations and mile markers. Was my first 'big one' so pleased just to get around. Course and organsiation makes it fine for beginners, but if you're slow it was pretty lonely miles 5 to 20. However, well worth the day out, and good value too.

In short: Brilliant! A challenging/undulating full marathon with superb views!
In full: I have just returned from this marathon and found it quite challenging. Some undulations early on but mostly flatish until 22 miles. Then a few rises in the road that just about finished me off! Well done to the organisers for doing a great job i hope this becomes an annual event. The tent at the end was the best yet with soup/hot drinks/sandwiches etc, and the police even followed the runners on bicicles! The marshals were good offering encouragement & the pipers @ the beginning a nice scottish touch.
As usual toilets were thin on the ground around the start but available on the route!
Overall a grand day out!!
