In short: Muddy good fun! In full: My first attempt at the Bookham 10k and won't be my last. It was muddy, boggy, hilly and flooded in places - which all made the event more enjoyable! Great organisation, friendly marshals and a nice scenic route. Keep up the good work ! Date of review: February 4, 2014
In short: Muddy Puddles and two killer hills In full: Pretty tough conditions this year, very muddy and slippery, trail shoes make little difference in these conditions, narrow in places with no overtaking which means serious runners need to get to the front early or they face walking for a small section (which I didn't mind at all). The long never ending hill seemed even tougher this year. Well organised by Alan and his crew. A finishers medal would have been nice but the technical t-shirt with new "tree" design is a nice souvenir. Always a great sense of satisfaction to complete this race, will be back next year. In short: YAY BUT YIKES!!! In full: My first Bookham 10k, similar to the polesdon 10k but the recent rain made this extra challenging. Very enjoyable and extremely well run! Thanks to organisers, marshals and fellow runners! Date of review: February 3, 2014
In short: A lot of fun! In full: A great course with plenty to keep you interested, hills, mud, water and a tree to climb over. Not to mention the great views and fab organisers and marshalls - Thank you all And a course PB for me :-) See you next year .... Date of review: February 3, 2014
In short: Oh yes! In full: Well there was mud aplenty, a bit of wadding, some good hills - two up but only down that I noticed. And somehow the sun shone! Great organisation very friendly and the marshals were very encouraging. I will be back ... Date of review: February 2, 2014
In short: Still a lovely local race In full: Did this in 2009 in the snow, before Eventstolive took it over. I loved it then and loved it again today in bright sun and plenty of mud. Mostly uphill on the way out and mostly downhill on the way back, with a nice mix of trails and woodland paths and very little road. And a big improvement to have the very deep puddles at the end not the start of the race. Date of review: February 2, 2014
In full: this was a much tougher race than i expected. the mud was like running in glue, and like other runners misjudged the depth of the water on the flooded paths stumbled and got an early bath. but this was just such fun that i would run it again in 2015.. Date of review: February 2, 2014
In full: It was a fine sunshiny day For running the Bookham 10km But sometimes the path Meant taking a bath And a cold muddy facial - wahey!
Yup, I was the one who came through the finish line looking like the creature from the black lagoon as on the penultimate 'puddle' I went under. Thank you for the kind fellow runners who hoiked me back to my feet and off I went. A huge thank you for all the ETL helpers back at the school for providing cloths to clean me up. Apart from that glitch it was a blast and good fun and superb signs and marshaling all the way round, and an extra than you for arrange for the sun to shine.
In short: A great event for someone who does not like mud :-) In full: A really enjoyed this races very friendly and for someone who does not like Mud I loved it. Great job guys and see you next year :-) Date of review: February 19, 2013
