In short: If you manage a pb here you are not trying hard enough on the flat runs. An enjoyable run which once again has been blessed with glorious weather.

In short: Heat and hills but at least it wasn't 26.2 miles
In full: My first time at Frenchay and thoroughly enjoyed it (until the final gruelling hill). Excellent organisation. I wish I'd entered in advance and would have picked up the nice t-shirts bearing runners names. It was pretty warm towards midday. I was thankful nit be running London this year. Well done to the organisers for an excellent race.

In short: post race problems
In full: Enjoyed the race and well organised on the day. Only problem seems to be the web page and results (the company it gives as doing the chip timing know nothing about it at all!)

Oh and yet ANOTHER chip timed race that varies by more than half a minute from my Garmin - how is this possible when with non chip races it agrees exactly with the time keepers?

In short: A well organised and thoroughly enjoyable race with a few inclines thrown in for good measure. Nice commerative mug at end, used for a well earned cup of tea.

In short: Inclines to die for...
In full: After a fast lap of the hospital grounds you descend down the fiendishly steep Blackberry Hill - but you do have to run back up it 6 miles later! A course that twists, turn, climbs, & descends through some lovely parts of the Bristol suburbs.
It's well worth the trip - honest!

In short: A great 10km for all standards although first timers be warned!
In full: Although I'm naturally biased as it is my local event I do love the Frenchay 10km. It has something for everyone with flat sections that keep you going and hilly challenges which give you a real sense of achievement. For a smallish local event with growing numbers of entrants each year the Frenchay 10km still has a great feel and atmosphere. The comemorative mug to finish is a nice touch and the chip timings (although basic) are a good addition. I don't know anyone who has run the event who has wanted to come back; my brother even travels from Essex each year to compete. Roll on 2010 and beyond.

In short: Just when you think you might be on for a PB they go and stick a hill in it.
In full: Really enjoyable race. I'd been warned about the hill at the end, but it still came as a nasty surprise. That said, this can be very fast in places. Well organised and marshalled, but I didn't see any kilometre markers until 7k. Otherwise a really good run with a nice mixture of club and non-club runners.

In short: Well organised and very friendly
In full: First time I have done my "local" race as I live outside the area now, saw a few people I knew. Weather excellent and made it for me. Organisation excellent and everyone v friendly, and the hills are nowhere near as bad as I expected (and this was my first hilly race). Highly recommended. Nice to get a useful mug rather than a medal. Fantastic to get the chip time just a few minutes after finishing, highly efficient, can't wait to do it again next year and better my time.
