In short: Fabuolous
In full: Missed last years first GEAR. But managed to drive from Yorkshire to get into this one.
The start was just a little cramped, but once over the start line, had no problems with blocking. Nice and flat, very fast course, and easy to get a PB if you are not hindered in the fun crowd at the back half.
Will be entering for next year asap, because it is so popular they will be restricting to around 1,800 runners.

In short: great to see this race back for a second year just needs a bit of tweeking to get the start right
In full: another well organised race by the GEAR team. Market place start far better than the previous year but more pens would be good to avoid the pushing and shoving at the beginning in the narrowest part of the course, supporters and marshalls very encouraging, decent medal, t shirt and chip timing all for a reasonable price - looking forward to 2008.

In short: A good choice for a first 10k
In full: My first race so nothing to compare it to but it was a great day, well organised, lovely medal and chocolate bar, not too intimidating for us beginners. Looking forward to next year!

In short: Very good!
In full: Enjoyed the day; didn’t think it was any more congested at the start than any other race. K markings were good, goody bag was good, medal was great, and spectators were great too! This was a very fun/fast race.

In short: GEAR gets better and better! Congratulations to the organisers yet again for a first-class event. Top 10K of the year!
In full: An improved course over last year: a (more or less) single lap, no more muddy off-road sections, and the kilometre markers were much easier to see this time - thanks. Racing at speed through the shopping centre was surprisingly great fun. A good atmosphere at the finish as plenty of runners stayed on to chat and socialise. Only minor quibble was the less-than-secure baggage storage. Otherwise, brilliant!
