In short: Did not notive the wind and rain (well maybe a little bit). In full: This is my third year competing in this race. Well organised, started on time which is always a bonus! Date of review: June 12, 2011
In short: Lovely, village, multi-terrain 10k In full: An interesting and varied course, some country lanes, some farm tracks, a couple of fields and some wooded single-track. Great countryside, with enough hills to break the pace, but nothing to seriously slow you down. Not PB potential, more of a fast, Sunday training run. Nice tea & cakes at the finish and the chance to eat ice-cream for charity. If you get the chance after the race, look around the village; it really is a bit special. There's a great pub right at the far end, just right for post-race Sunday lunch. Date of review: June 16, 2010
In short: Scenic, mildly challenging good MT event In full: Did the 5k and had a nice time winning it. A couple of slight screw ups, making the distance actually 1/4mile long, with the 1st k coming at 0.92miles wasn't great...nor was stewards being shocked by my arrival. A couple were placed badly at one junction, being positioned down the correct path rather than blocking the incorrect one!
But generally a great location and good varied route Date of review: June 13, 2010
In short: Fair course for the Chilterms and very beautiful In full: Well, I did like it, as promised by the publicity. It's a challenge in that the ups and downs and tracks and paths mean that you cannot run your quickest but it's not that difficult a run. It seemed to be well-organised, and well attended by the locals as if the village regards it as a village event. The prizes were awarded by the local lord which gave it a little kudos. I will be back, but why is it on the same day as the Wargrave 10k, another secnic run and only about 12 miles away? Date of review: June 13, 2010
