In short: Good, big city race - In full: Good organisation and enjoyed the start and finish in the stadium. Unfortunately, the route into the city and back was a bit dull but unavoidable. I appreciated the medal (much better than yet another XL t-shirt) and didn't have any problems at the finish with getting drinks, but you did have to queue. Agree with the other comments about drinks being better in bottles as they are easier to pick up as well as drink from which makes a big difference especially when there are so many runners. Also, were the mile markers from 9 miles onwards all wrong? I ended up with a very slow time for what should have been a quick donwhill section to mile 9, and the last mile was slightly uphill but I ran it over a minute quicker than the two previous miles. In short: Fast course for those seeking a PB, if you can get past the crowds In full: It's a flat(ish), fast course but too crowded for me and dull, dull, dull apart from Ecclesall Rd. Date of review: April 30, 2008
In short: Good Race, not as hilly has expected In full: Good race for first timer. Well organised and plenty of water stops. Scenery is industrial for long periods but good support in the town. Crowd support at the end was good. Car parking was OK but getting out of the car park was a long wait. Will run it again next year.
In short: A good race with a great atmosphere the only downside is the run through the industrial estate near the start and finish and not enough volunteers at the end to let the runner's get through easily. Date of review: April 29, 2008
