In short: Enjoyed it from start to finish
In full: Nothing but praise for this run. Its my 6th or 7th half marathon and was an excellent and challenging course.

The organisation leading up to the event was excellent and everythihg seemed to run smoothly on the day

The support up eccleshall road was very uplifting and definitely made me want to run the course again

Finishing on the track was a nice touch, especially as I'd managed a strong finish.

Definitely would do this run again

In short: Good race
In full: Good race - managed to get stuck in the middle of Sheffield and could not find way to the car parks ended up leaving the car and walking - seemed best option and just made it in time

In short: Warm and sunny
In full: The sun didn't show any signs of appearing until the minute we set off. Well organised and good fun UNTIL you have finished and try to get back into the hall for your bag. Despite the side of the track being fenced off runners are not allowed to go down it to get inside but had to trail up the stairs, through seats and get completely lost trying to find your way back inside - and i knew where i was going !
I prefer cups to bottles.

In short: Excellent organisation and thanks to the people of Sheffield for the atmosphere.
In full: I didn't have a great race myself, but despite that really enjoyed the event, and the atmosphere on Ecclesall Road and in the stadium was fantastic.
The heat was what did for me, but I guess that is also what brought out the spectators, so I can't have it all ways.

Powerade would have been better at the 7 mile drink station than 10, and the drink station at 4.5 mile were filling the cups as runners got there, causing a bit of a bottleneck, but these are minor gripes.

A word of warning though, the route is described as fairly flat. But what they really mine is "flat by Sheffield standards" which is decidedly different.

Goody bag was excellent as well, making good value for the entry fee (Nottingham take note) and finishing in the stadium caps it all.

Congratulations to the organisers, a great event!!

In short: Fabulous race, amazing atmosphere.
In full: What an atmosphere! I loved the start & finish at the stadium.
And what support from the spectators!
Bands, singers & cheering crowds on the route.
A really great race. Road closures, chip timing, good medal, t-shirt & shoebag goody bag.
A bit hilly, but generally a great first HM for people. Plenty of slower people, & support right until the end.
BRILLIANT!

In short: Tougher than expected (there seem to be more than one definition of "flat"...)
In full: About the scenery:
From the stadium to the town centre it's a depressing industrial area. Much nicer once you are in town.

Atmosphere: Brilliant in the stadium and in town - especially up near the turning point at Hunters Bar, a bit dull in-between.

Route:
Is it absolutely necessary to encircle the stadium? There must be other roads in Sheffield...
Especially as this also creates the problem of "trapping" people inside the stadium.
Some parts of the route are a bit narrow, i.e. slowing you down, nothing dramatic though.

Other:
There were quite many casualties. I.e. the ambulances were very busy.

In short: Hard work but good fun
In full: It was a pretty quick course and the roadside atmosphere was really good.
As a charity runner, I thought the general standard seemed pretty high (because it was also Yorkshire Half Marathon Championship? Does that happen every year?)
I would gripe that the energy drinks were kept until too late in the race (I think they would just about have kicked in about 50 yards after the finish line).
Overall, though, a top race experience.

In short: By far my most favourite race ever! Great atmosphere, great scenery, nice touches like the sponges and sports drinks on the route.
