In short: First ever run, enjoyed it a lot. A nice relatively flat course.

In full: arrived early so missed the congestion. started near the front so missed the congestion. thanks for the advice i was given for the above.
couldnt fault anything. slightly hillier than i expected but o/a it is a p.b. course. i should know as i knocked over 7 mins off my p.b. and finishing in the top 25 it was my best race result by far.

In short: Great route through parks and country lanes, with a 2 mile gradual incline around mile 6-8.
In full: First timer for this particular event.
Parking organisation was a bit of a let down. There was a marshal stood by the club carpark who didn't bother telling drivers when the car park was full and ended up creating a bit of traffic nightmare with people trying to turn their cars around down a narrow road. Could've been avoided if the marshall was a bit more vocal.
But the race itself was excellent and well marshalled.

In short: Decent enough race with a track finish.
In full: Flat half marathon except for 1 maybe 2 slight inclines approximately halfway but nothing too serious. Ran mainly on country paths/lanes so main hazards are cyclists and dog walkers. Traffic getting to the event once in Lancaster was a nightmare although I think numbers were well up from last year. With perfect conditions and the flat course I helped myself to a pb of 1hr 20mins. Would definitely recommend and will probably return.

In short: Great race. Would run again.
In full: Well-organised race. Good potential for a PB. Nice scenery along the river and most of it is traffic free apart from a mile or so along a country road. A few small hills. Nice medal and mars bar at the end.

In short: A very enjoyable event, and lots of facilities on hand to keep the family occupied.
In full: An interesting course, with a couple of hills along the way.
The start is very congested, with only a hundred yards or so before the course narrows. As other people have mentioned, starting with a circuit of the athletics track would give more time for the field to spread out before reaching the narrow section.
As the event starts next door to a leisure centre, there are lots of changing facilities, lockers, loos and showers there, which makes a nice change from the usual portaloos at a lot of events. In addition, the swimming pool and excellent cafe means that the rest of the family can amuse themselves there during the race, and have lunch there afterwards to avoid any queues on leaving the site.

In full: Good route with good support. I arrived very early (75 mins before start) and still had to queue longer for my web-entered number than people who enetered on the day did!I also had to give my t-shirt size on entry, so expected a t-shirt (not unreasonable?) No t-shirt though. No real moans though,a good route, good views, nice variety, nice atmosphere. Did a PB of 1h44m20s (on my watch), looking for sub 1h40m in 2011!
