In short: Good route mainly off public roads
In full: Great location and route but they've got to widen the start line and level out the early grassy stretch. Cutting the amount of 'management speak b$&*ocks' pre-start would be good as well.

In short: 5th year for me - great race
In full: As I live less than a mile from the start, its my local race. I know the course well and know how to plan for the hill. Yes it is crowded in parts but I never had to stop or even really slow down. Only minus was that the on-line results have my name wrong

In short: Hill wasn'tas bad as I feared
In full: An excellent, well-organised race. In the 50-55 min pen, the pack didn't thin out for about a kilometre but after that it was great. Varied surface with uneven grass, mud, road and pavement made for an interesting run.

Join in next year - don't fear the hill!

In short: Well organised event
In full: Despite reading some less than positive comments about last year's course, I felt that despite one or two "pinch points" that were well into the race and therefore not a huge issue, it flowed pretty well. You do have to take care on certain parts to ensure safe footing but nothing too onerous.
There was a great turn out and really good atmosphere - well done to all those that gave up their time to ensure a successful event for a thoroughly good cause.

In short: A race driven by a great cause
In full: This is a good way to start the cross country races of the next few months. The whole purpose is to raise funds for Grove House - the fact that it's a good course is a bonus. Was horribly out of shape (4 mins slower than I ran 3 months ago), ran a dreadful time but overall glad I did it. Will support this again next year, and run it properly to do the event more justice than I did this year.

In short: Not as hard as people think
In full: Only one climb at 3.5k or so, 36 metres or so over a kilometre, so hardly a wall. Two or three k run over fields or soft byways, so could have been very soft and tricky if it had rained, but fortunately it was perfect - not rock hard and uneven like it could have been.

Very well organised, huge turnout.
