In short: Superb course on a far from flat but not particularly hilly course with great organisation. In full: Loved this race. Superb quiet rural course that whilst not being traffic free I doubt I saw more than 10 cars once away from the start/finish mile. Not a flat course so doubtful for a pb but far from being a tough hilly course. Excellent organisation with plenty of marshals at awkward junctions and loads of directional signs so no chance of going the wrong way. Nice finishers memento as well. Starting/finishing at a college was handy as there was proper toilets and showers available at no extra costs. My 90 mile drive there was a bit long so I doubt I would do it again but if you are more local it's well worth entering. Date of review: October 17, 2010
In short: Well organised and good course In full: Just completed this year’s 10 mile run. Very well organised, well signposted on the route and distance markers every mile. 3 water stops over the course. I found this course tough, there are a number of hills throughout, none of them are steep but some are long and steady and enough to put you off pace and really make you puff. The last mile is up hill therefore if you are in a competitive group, save a little for the end as it may make or break your time. I had very little left when crossing the line. The race was run on country roads and there was little traffic and a pleasure to run around.
At the finish line, there was water, an isotonic lucozade drink (tasted awful) and a nice glass memento (paper weight)
Hats off to the winner at nearly 54 mins dead and a strong top 15. Good overall turnout and will be back again.
In short: A Superb way to spend a Sunday morning In full: This was my first Tadley 10 and it definately won't be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed the rural run although it's worth bearing in mind there are virtually no spectators. The marshalls were excellent, very encouranging and doing a good job. The course is slightly undulating with a lovely long downhill around the 7 mile mark and not too many uphills at all. The bottle of lucozade and memento were a lovely touch - that's not bad from someone who usually wants a medal. Could have done with a Mars Bar to go with it. Excellent race!! In short: Friendly local event which I would certainly do again In full: This was a classic English small running event, very well organised and run in beautiful countryside on a lovely sunny day. The venue for the start/ finish was ideal and the event was well marshalled, the only blight being a few inconsiderate drivers, but that's a fault of this country, not this event Date of review: October 17, 2010
In short: An excellent event In full: Last year wasn`t a fluke - this is such a great event. Low key event but don`t let that stop you. Quiet country roads, plenty of views. No real hills just a couple of risers - good PB course. Nice memento too. I`ll be back.. Date of review: October 23, 2009
In full: I did not have a good race, trying to shake off a cold that did not work. Alas it was certainly a PB course around attractive countryside. Only a few gradual inclines that were hardly noticeable. Lots of signage and marshalls so no chance of getting lost. Will definitely be a race I would return to do. a big thank you to the organuiser and all of your helpers. Date of review: October 20, 2009
