In short: Brilliant organisation, as usual, including plenty of pre-race info. Only possible improvements - a technical T-shirt and recovery drinks at the finish Date of review: August 13, 2012

In short: Hurts, mummy; it hurts! In full: Hilly and undulating is absolutely right. My pacing was all wrong, making the second half absolute hell! This was compounded by missing a turn towards the end (cutting off about 1km) giving me no option but to phone the organisers and tell them I had disqualified myself and to take my name off the list of finishers. No matter, still a worthwhile run with lots of lessons learnt.
Good a plentiful drinks stations - jelly babies, sweets, chocolate bars. However a couple of fast roads to cross - careful! Date of review: August 12, 2012

In short: Challenging but beautiful. In full: The only downside for me was the bottleneck going up to Old Sarum that slowed me down. Otherwise, a glorious day out, and a really enjoyable, well-organised race with a great atmosphere Date of review: August 12, 2012

In short: Great marshalling In full: well done - really enjoyed this one, although, having not bothered to read the race pack, I was suprised at how much was on road. So many drink stations - well done volunteers and organisers. Loved running past the cathedral. ...and had a bit of a bum wiggle to the band at the end (how could I resist a Johnny Cash number?)- the perfect post race cool down (or maybe I should have entered the ultra?) In short: Excellent event In full: Ran the ultra and started at 9am. Slight bit of rain but it kept off the heavy stuff. A pre loop for the ultra before joining the marathon runners. Well stocked check points and friendly staff. Thank you to all the helpers. Very well organised and good signs, nice and clear for all events. Course was slightly hilly and a good mix of road and off road. Great start and finish point at the fire station and good use of the leisure centre facilities make this one of my all time favourites. 4hr 29 min finish for a 50k. Thank you all. In short: First ever 30k and really enjoyed it In full: Just a quick one really. I found this race very well organised and managed. I was worried about losing my way but that was impossible as the route was very well signposted. Aid stations were well stocked. The medal was nice and weighty. Few busy roads to cross but I used my common sense :-) All good stuff Date of review: August 12, 2012

In short: Not very friendly as a single runner, but a nice route In full: Could have done with a drink station between 4 and 10 miles as it was very humid, organisers very helpful, other runners not very friendly Date of review: August 12, 2012

In short: Hot, hilly, hellish (in parts) but makes you feel heroic In full: Really looked forward to the 21k race and it didn't disappoint. The route through the Clarendon Park and Longford Castle (usually closed to the public) are stunning.
It is a very tough run, with three very tough hills/climbs. Was absolutely exhausted by the end of it but very proud to have completed it too.
The 21k was in fact measured at 23k but the organisers jokingly announced that this might be the case at the start of the race and asked competitors to check their GPSs when they'd finished and let them know! A great way of diffusing and making light of what might have annoyed some runners.
Well marshalled with friendly staff, on the whole good signage, well placed drinks stops, particularly the one 3 miles from home offering fruit as well as water.
Three and half hours after finishing and still shattered! Despite that, still tempted to run it again next.
Well done Salisbury and well done the Firestation. Date of review: August 12, 2012
