In full: A very well organised race with friendly and supportive marshalls. I liked the fact that someone let you know your time at 5 and 10 miles. It was a fairly hilly course, providing a good challenge, which on the day was made so much harder by the heat. I enjoyed the finish on the track and it was a good T-shirt at the end.

In short: Just wish it was cooler!!
In full: Testing hills but a good all rounder for a half marathon beginner. It was just far too hot. I had run 12 miles of the course before in training but on the day the heat got the better of me in some areas. Hopefully will be back next year to try and do better

In short: Nice run, but maybe not so wise to do it on the hottest day of the year...
In full: Nice hilly route. Well organized, good marshaling.

It was officially the hottest day of the year (so far) which was definitely a problem for many runners. While at some drinks stations this was clearly understood and cups were full, others tried to "save water" by filling only to about 1/5.

Most of the roads were closed (even major ones) which was much appreciated, however in the last 1.5 miles or so there was quite a lot of traffic in the residential areas (head-on into runners...). And let's not mention the tractor blocking the road completely at about 7.5 miles.

In short: Great event with good local support
In full: Well organised apart from the 1st drinks station where you had to wait for water. The marshalls were very encouraging and the local support was brilliant, the 'Half Way' sign was a nice touch. Not a PB just happy to get round the course as it was so hot. Nice t-shirt.

In short: Testing course with a tough finish
In full: The pre-race info was a bit sparse and there didn`t seem to be any signs to the event. Really I ought to have known how the event would go for me when I was allocated number 666!).
However, the base at Berry Hill was nice and the atmosphere was really good with a big fun run also happening. The course was very hilly and that plus the hot weather resulted in lots of people walking and quite a few dropping out. The marshalls were excellent and their encouragement was really appreciated on such a harsh day. Also the t-shirt received for finishing was of high quality rather than the usual white cotton efforts.
I would do this again but only if it was 10 degrees cooler!

In short: Extremely hot making it a struggle just to get round. Achieved a personal worst! The marshalls were very friendly and on a cooler day would have been a good race.

In short: An undulating course on a very hot day. A slow time today, just glad to get round. The marshals, specators and other runners were very supportive. Could have done with an additional drinks station today. Otherwise a good race.
