In short: My first multi terrain, AMAZING..
In full: A beautiful blend of road, hill, mud, grass, muddy grass, muddy hilly grass, you get my point.
An excellent race with many a surprises for first timers.

In short: Tough hills and terrain but great fun
In full: My first time running this one (after the April run being snowed off!) and must say I really enjoyed it. The weather was horrible, and I thought for some reason I could do this run on a full English breakfast, so suffered for the first 4 kms, but the run itself was well organised, the route was fantastic, the long uphill more than compensated for by the not so long downhill, and for the first time I think I managed to run a negative split. Not PB potential for me - I have broked 50 mins 3 times this year on much flatter courses but only managed 54mins on this one - but very enjoyable all the same and the hill work definitely good for leg strength for future races. The finish was also somewhat uplifting with a encouraging crowd on the last little uphill slope. A really enjoyable race.

In short: Great fun. Soaking wet and muddy!
In full: My first time at Arundel. People had been warning me about the hills but it was nowhere near as bad as I expected. I loved the muddy treacherous slippery down and uphill although I did nearly fall over on several occasions. I also blame teh congested satrt for not getting under 50 minutes but no complaints as I really enjoyed this race. Thanks! I'll be back next year!

In short: Great event, good challenge!
In full: My first time at Arundel. The first 5km is a constant climb but not steep, then a steep downhill to 7km, a sharp hill, then downhill to the finish. Superb organisation, and very impressive paperweight for all finishers. My only negatives, the immediate start was a bit narrow causing a bit of a bottleneck, therefore losing the few seconds that would have got me under 50mins for the first time this year. Also due to the weather, the steep downhill after 5km was a bit treacherous at speed, I had a big slip, but somehow stayed on my feet.

In short: Absolutely loved it!!!
In full: My 3rd time of doing this, 2006 was 55 minutes dead, 2007 was 53 minutes 36 seconds. This year I came through in 48.52, just 14 seconds outside my PB set 5 weeks ago!
The killer climb at 7k to 7.5k was a bit slippy on the chalk, the next 1/2k was like the cross country season had started early, running through mud & puddles.
Great Fun, well organised, a proper memento, rather than a tacky tin medal.
Brilliant Race!

In short: Even better this year.
In full: Have trained more on XC hills this year, and it certainly paid off as I sliced 7 minutes off last year's time. Hills therefore not as arduous and managed to run all of them. Glorious scenery as always.

Special thanks to: the marshals, first aiders, drinks stations helpers, 1st Arundel Scouts and indeed EVERYONE who helped with this event, especially when having to stand there in the pouring rain, and getting positively soaked. I have given the PB potential a 3 this year in view of my beating last year's time. All km markers were in place ok, 3 drinks stations at 2, 5 and 8 km (2 & 8 doubling up) and brilliant crowd support for this fringe event of the Arundel Festival. The atmosphere was so inclusive that no-one could feel isolated. Great memento again. Well done all, can't wait for next year.

In short: Great scenery, welcoming marshalls and great momento
In full: Not an easy course with the 5k uphill climb at the beginning but such a good event you can only want to do it again. Can't control the weather so the rain and mud made it even more fun. See you next year!

In short: A challenging race in a superb setting
In full: Despite the mist, the puring rain, the hills with slippery chalk and mud this was an enjoyable event. Not for a PB but a good combination of road and muddy off road. ell done and will be backnext year. Nice unique momento too.

In short: Wonderful setting and challenging course...
In full: My first event and I couldn't have picked better. The course passes through the picturesque and hilly grounds of Arundel Castle. Long climb for the first 5k, then rapid downhill followed by a surprise second climb.
Despite the rain there was a friendly atmosphere at the finish in the High Street.
For a relatively small event the marshalling was very good with cheerful encouragement and water when needed. However, the race start was a bit random as there were no announcements.
Highly recommended, even in the pouring rain!
